Does the grass in your yard do this? ~*KG*~

The grass in my front yard has started to "grow weird". It has now started to grow fast in a circle. The grass around it remains short and lighter in color.

You'll have to see the pictures to see what I mean.

http://www.crozcorner.com

At first I thought maybe my dad spilled fertilizer in a circle in this spot or maybe there is something in the ground causing it to grow faster and do this, but there is nothing there!!

I've never seen anything like it. It's so weird!

How it changed my life:

It's for sure strange!

Date: 5/22/2003 7:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 36994    well, not exactly as your grass, i saw the pics by the way, thats pretty strange! this one time my dad put some kind of chemical, something like that on the grass and wrote our family name, and ever since the grass in that area hasnt grown while the grass in the other area does...but thats pretty weird! in a circle...
Date: 5/22/2003 7:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 6915    maybe its the way you cut it? the circle seems to be longer...
Date: 5/22/2003 7:15:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 6358    that's a good suggestion, although it'd be sort of hard to cut it that way in the center without a lawnmower?
Date: 5/22/2003 7:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 57830    What grass? all i see when i look out into my yard is dandelions!! SO much yellow! its blinding! hahahaha-haha, sorry, in other words, nope, sorry, doesn't happen at my house!

Date: 5/22/2003 9:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 28767    Maybe you should try to dig in the middle or try a metal detector for some reason. I suggest you check for minerals. This is cool. Peace Out..
Date: 5/22/2003 9:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 26598    Hi, Is your house on top of a hill? it could be under ground water pooling in that one spot makeing it more fertile.
Date: 5/22/2003 10:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 53128    maybe some sort of fungi is beginning to grow around it? I know there's some kinds of fungi that start of in a ring, and then keep spreading out. Some people refer to it as a faerie ring, believing that faeries use the mushrooms as seats (I think it was seats anyway... )
Date: 5/22/2003 11:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 13636    I just wish my grass would grow....=(
Date: 5/22/2003 11:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 53909    That is strange looking but cool though. I just did some yard work in my back yard. I have no grass back there....all weeds! We're working on putting grass back there though.
Date: 5/23/2003 5:35:00 AM  From Authorid: 61901    If you dig 20 feet down in the ring you will find water.
Date: 5/23/2003 7:01:00 AM  From Authorid: 58611    That is weird! I have never seen anything like that before!
Date: 5/23/2003 9:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 39272    maybe grass is unable to grow in the center of the circle
Date: 5/23/2003 10:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 55533    ...radiation?
Date: 5/23/2003 11:11:00 AM  From Authorid: 49150    Maybe there is an underground water leak?
Date: 5/24/2003 1:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 56971    may be some boby put grass killer in the middle. cause i use to cut grass and these grass killers do the job
Date: 5/24/2003 1:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 56971    but who know that is kinda werid.
Date: 5/24/2003 1:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 51285    Well I have a feeling that it isnt grass...well not normal grass...its onion grass. Try smelling it and see if it smells at all like onion. As for it growing in a circle....I don't know how it did that...its just probably one of natures little surpirses or something. ~friend of GG~

Date: 5/28/2003 1:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 28989    You or someone who owned the house before you may have had a small kiddies' swimming pool or sandbox there, and the soil was somehow altered so that the grass grows better there. Maybe? I've seen that kind of thing happen with old burial mounds, where plants grow different there than in the surrounding area.
Date: 6/17/2003 9:30:00 AM  From Authorid: 62141    Looks like a faerie ring to me. They are pretty common. The circle has to do with the underground fungi, which typically grows in a circle.
