I also read about this on aol today, I was going to make a post about it...that poor, adorable, little boy, he's probably scared, being w/o his parents...I hope whoever the mother and father is, comes forward and tells why he was left alone like that  |

Base maybe that is true but still...its irresponsible for the parents to have left this kid in the streets at night...not only that but the part of town that he was found in is not the best. Anything could have happened to him. I hope they are found and pay for this. |

BC me too...this is the second case I know of where something like this has happened in our city. The other time we were actually involved cause we found a little boy of 3 crossing a busy street by our house. We had to call the cops and the nerve of his dad to show up and try to say that the lil boy was only gone for 10 minutes when we sat there with him for almost an hour. |

I just read the CNN article about this and it's says they fear the parent or parents may have met with foul play. That the boy was well dressed and that it seems like he was well taken care of. Anything could have happened. May or not have been the parents fault, but it is a sad story. |

I have not heard of it but there are loads of parents just like this little boys...I hope his parents are ok but if they are why havent teh come forward? If they are not that little boy is an orphan. Either way it is a sad situation  |

I haven't heard this story but it is sad. There are lots of children given up by natural parents and its awful for all of them. What will our next generation be like because of all the turmoil in the lives of lost and forgotten children.  |

I heard this on Fox News. Unbelievable......this is too sad. I cannot except the "fear of being sent back over the border excuse", because there are places you can literally step over the Rio Grande and be back in the U.S........this is horrible And even if the parents DO come forward, hey, they lost their rights, as far as I am concerned.  |

Thanks everyone for the replies...Busy Bee I wonder the same thing...LSG you are right, I think the being sent back to mexico is not an excuse for them not to claim their child...and yes I too believe they have lost their right as parents. Thanks Aromatics...maybe he is better off without his parents...my mom wishes she could adopt him cause they have him in foster care here. Release Me yeah the only thing he was able to tell police is that his name is Mateo and that he has 2 brothers and a dog. Appirition I really dont even think he knows whats going on...cause the police are saying he is just such a loving little boy who likes to show affection. jessica it is very sad indeed...I just hope they find answers to this case soon cause if he's not from here in Bakersfield then no telling where he came from.
