One embrace---NKA

Love is often a grueling race.
Though sometimes stagnates within.
It breaks the heart, runs in shame
to cover it’s path from whence it came
veiled so carefully by a colorful grin,
ravenous for one last embrace.

How does it find one embrace
must it seek from whence it came?
Does it ever finish the tiring race
Can it ever relinquish the shame?
Of course, the answer lies within,
partially perhaps, bounded in my grin.

Can you see it in my grin
yearning for your embrace?
Does it matter if we win this race?
Would it change the truth within?
Would we forever sink in our shame
for a love that was, that came?

Do you remember the day it came?
Have you recollection of my grin?
Pushing forward in the race.
I still long for your embrace,
engrossed in the passion within.
For this must I remain in shame?

Love can be found in one single embrace.
We are able to recall from whence it came.
Sacrificing all we are, all from within,
If only to be able to make each other grin.
Secondary is the agonizing shame,
cyclical story, continuing the race.

Maybe it isn’t really a race.
Perchance, I am an addict of your embrace,
not caring in the on going shame.
I can still feel it as if it were when it came,
the day I wore a purely instinctual grin.
The love you gave that day will remain within.

Infinitely imprisoned by one embrace,
forever more caught up in the race,
I must let go of the shame.
