At only 22 years old, Claux was arrested for suspicion of a string of homosexual serial murders, sadistic arts, grave robbing and cannibalism. Not bad for 22 dont you think? 7 of his killings happened in one month, he was a monster on the lose and believe it or not he was arrested in front of the world famous "Moulin Rouge"
Claux confessed to authorities that he had fantasies of cannibalism and all his dreams came true when he scored a job at a morgue. There he would eat his job, cutting off strips off their ribs and taking home bags of their blood to drink. No one has actually found out why he did these things, but his past has some clues for assumptions to be made.
He was born in 1972 in Africa and later went to London, then Paris. He had a normal child hood, the only thing was he wasnt really close to his parents and this emotional detachment grew stronger while his obsession with vampires and the occult grew stronger also. He thought of them as respected beings and read up on them on every chance he got. This fascination only grew and grew.
When his grandfather died he felt the family blamed him for it. Especially his grandmother. This is when he really withdrew and became so obsessed with death. He started to visit cemetaries, all of them and started to know them all by heart. Soon he was breaking into cribs, sleeping there by day. Soon he grew bored and started new things, he would dig up bodies and steal things on them and worst of all, he would mutilate the corpses for hours and think of himself as powerful and mighty. With a screw driver or anything else he could find, he would open the coffins and bash the corpses. This continued, with other activities, right up until his arrest.
What would be better than stabbing a corpse? What about creating a corpse? This fantasy soon grew stronger and stronger. He first got a job doing what he loved, and started working with a hospital at the morgue. A 10 year old girl was his first autopsy and it fascinated him to the core. He was in charge of sewing the corpse up after autopsy and they would often leave him alone to do so. This is where he would eat them. A butcher once told him that meat was best about 3 or 4 days after death, it was a fantasy from then on in to do it and taste it, this fantasy came true.
He thought nothing of his habits and was soon taking meat home and eating it there also. He prefered it raw and knew what parts he liked and what parts he didnt. He would try it from everywhere. He actually liked the idea of being a cannibal. Soon it was blood too, he would blend it up with human ashes and drink it at home... he was utterly obsessed.
He got up one morning and decided it was time. He searched the streets for someone, anyone to be his first victim. He finally found a man on the internet that wanted more of a physical relationship, he gave Claux his address and Claux went, with nothing but death on his mind. He ended up using this internet frequently as there were many gay men looking for partners on there which made them easy pray with little witnesses. Claux moved into phase two of his obsession.
Claux wasted no time. When the man opened the door he shot him. When the man fell to the floor he was still breathing so he shot him again. He had a look around, ate some food, stole some things, shot him a few more times and finally pulled a pot on the mans head, crushing it. He then left.
The parents found the body 3 days later. Most killings in France were of homosexuals at that time. There was a hatred toward them and it seemed like the same few gangs might even be doing them all. A lot of them were traced back to the internet but no one had been arrested for many of the unsolved cases. This was nother statistic, but they knew it was different somehow, he was not violated like the others, the killing seemed almost pointless or just a robbery.
Claux was safe for the first few months but then tried to use the dead mans cheque book and the shop keeper knew. Claux ran off before police arrived but it still gave them a lead to go on.
Claux was arrested shortly after for harrassing a girl outside of Moulin Rouge. He was brought into custody and he confessed to the murder. He was evaluated by psychiatrists that were baffled. He showed no brain damage, no ill family history, no signs of a usual serial killer. It was like he just got up and decided to kill a man, he was even careful to remove fingerprints later. He calculated these murders and didnt give a thought to it. They diagnosed him schizophrenic and decided they had the evidence they needed for trial.
During trial he was linked to many other murders done that year and the jury didnt take to kindly to it. Due to lack of evidence, they could not imprison him for the other murders. He got 12 years for murder, grave robbing, and canibalism. What happens when he gets out? We will have to wait and see wont we. He will be out in just a few years if parole grants it.
