i, too, stayed for the people. i came across this site by accident. but, when i did, i decided to stay and check it out. the people i met are fantastic. i was married and started a family at a young age, so i didn't really have many friends. but when i came here, it felt like i had a million. there is always someone to talk to when you need it.  |

I joined about 2 and a half years ago. I was searching for something (I can't remember that far back) and I stumbled onto USM. For about a year the only thing I would do on the internet was be on USM. I was addicted lol. Back then it was very different. I stayed for the people that have since left. The posts I stayed for too. I don't come onto USM that much anymore, most of my time online is on one of the other sites. However, I still enjoy USM and the people on here, which is why I still come by.  |

You named alot of the people for me too and of course you, I've met so many great people here, and I just loved those old religions wars, boy were they something, it did get heated, but one learned to love the people that were on the other side of the belief fence as well. Most of us got to know each other as people, rather we fought like cats and dogs on the *issues* or not. Then in the back of it all, we would call each other on the phones, or email or msg back and forth, but then STILL go at it on the religion post. But it was all in good fun and learning, as we all learned different things. So many on here when I first arrived that I thought would never be friendly with me, turned out to be once they got to know me out side my *opinions* LOL LOL. YEP a bunch of great people here.  |

I stumbled across this site by accident and I wasnt to sure what I had found and I thought I may even be to old for USM. When I joined, I wasnt sure I would be accepted here, in fact I made a post to that effect. From that post, so many people messaged me and LLSis you were the first one to welcome me to USM and make me feel at home, I am ever grateful for your friendship. I have never been one to really open up to anyone, maybe thats one of the reasons I have as few friends as I do here. One thing is for sure though, the friends I do have are what I consider true friends and I cherish each one of them. The friends I have here is one of the reasons i keep coming back and besides, if I didnt check in each day, heck I might miss something! USM is a very interesting site. I have probally read more stuff here at USM than I have read in the past 10 years!! USM has a way of growing on you. I may never win any popularity contest around here, but you know what, I'm gonna keep coming back! The more I come back, the more opportunities people will have to get to know the Priss. Once upon a time....*grin* I was in a debate on another site, and someone messaged me and gave me the link to USM, saying you might enjoy debating there. When I went to register, I couldn't think of a name and then I thought: well, I'm a Thinker, so that popped into my mind and that is what I chose as a name. At first all the "activity", blinking buttons, so many categories, and options, took some getting used to. I lurked for a while, read, learned my way around, and then I started replying. I didn't know anyone, and there were anonymous authors; and some very popular, high-profile members such as: JT, Pixie, St.Pete, Pam, SixGun, KarmaKiller and others who were stiring it up in Debate, and Pixie also was swinging her "nerf bat" like crazy; some heated discussions and debates and so I felt right at home. I never thought I'd really get to know so many people like I have here. USM really is unique; and unlike anyother place on the net; and it is hard to explain to someone who doesn't come here. One just has to be a part of it all. I remember Gail's All-Nighter posts, and hundreds of replies, and sometimes when I would log on in the morning and see all those crazy party animals replying like crazy at all hours of the night...he he he..LadyLuck, Gail, MonkeyLvr, Pixie...those girls could parrrTaaay... :p  |

At first, I enjoyed all of the drama. LOL. At times, it could be pretty funny. I remember the post constantly scrolling, and it was hard to keep up with all of them. I liked the fast paced part of it. It's kind of slow now..more like an old folk's home, than the pre-school it used to be. LOL.  |

Kelly, believe it or not. What made me actually want to stay on usm was when it went down for 2 weeks and we all gathered on MoonPriestess's site. I think thats cause that is when I started talking to you, MG, Becky, Kysta, Monkyluvr , oddy and so many others over there and then when it came back up I had decided to stay for sure ( cause I was doubting rather or not I wanted to before that) . I'm glad I did stay though cause I met soooo many nice people since then and I will have to say it's the people that make me keep coming back.......  |
