I have seen that too Peaches..Its sad really..Those sections are for sharing..not debating..If they wanted to debate they would put it in the DEBATE section..sometimes people will go anywhere to look for a fight..very sad. |

I usually do read most the stories but I do not comment...I would not want to inflict my beliefs on those who arent so open to it..Not that I would intentionaly but others would want to argue. |

I agree, it should be on the debate board. I think that if someone comes along and turns it into a debate, the poster of the story should remove the posts that turn it into a debate. God Bless |

The only way people are going to debate it is if people come across telling others what they know for a fact when there facts aren't necesarily true, its just what they believe in, doesn't mean others believe it. Then when you try to tell them its their opinion and you think differently they come back at you. I've seen it happen and it recently has happened to me. Do I think it should be in the debate section yet. Also, alot of people post thing and they are posting in the wrong category not realizing it. IMO. |

turning a post in Angels, God, and Spiritual is almost as tacky as attacking someone who has just won an award here on USM. Or maybe implying their spouse is something their not...interesting observation. |

Thank you all! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who feels this way! 62118-MOST people post things in there about their religion, the facts about their religion. If that is not your religion or you dont agree with it then don't say anything! IF it was in the debte category go ahead and pour your heart out BUT it's not so... Another thing I thought of last night to back up LL on how it's for sharing about your(or others) religion is that maybe someone here is having a hard time in their life right now deciding on religions. Maybe they are looking for a religion and may go their to see a variety of different religions to help them. It is for SHARING religious beliefs, and maybe even helping someone. Just something I thought of. Again, thank you ALL!!!! *Peaches* |

IP, They are telling people the facts of their religion. Maybe if you find a post that is REALLY offensive to you, you could just ask politely for them to please not post things like that or for them to maybe give it a different title to include the religion that it is about so that if you are not interested in that religion then you can just go on. Just a thought. And also, about people posting things in the wrong categories, I believe it says on the FAQ page under why posts may be deleted (please, correct me if I'm wrong) that if an admin feels that a post does not belong in the category it was posted in then they will delete it, so.... hey tess, i know you're at camp right now but i'm still gonna reply...i very much agree with the first part of your post, but if you accidently put one of your posts in the wrong section, they would only delete it if it was completely out of place. (example: i accidently put a poem in the philosophy category!! lol) yeah that one definetly got deleted! but if its a post that was meant to be a debate AND about religion, then you could put it in either one...its the poster's choice. (of course nowdays there are some very close-minded people out there...when you post something religious, you're almost certain to have someone else tell you you're wrong. 9 times out of 10! its sad. |
