I hit the mouse on the icon “Notepad.” And like a bitter, but solaced nomad, I type away my thoughts at hand Of this place called “Cyberland”
But my only thought, without a doubt Is to type the following: “I want out” So for a chord of inspiration I go online for a quick visitation And I think…
“In this chair, I will sit In this stare, I visit Into cybernetic space In a world without a face
With a mouse at a readied hand With zooming out to “cyberland” Within my body, I sell my soul With pollutants at mind, like aerosol
At every chance that I will get At every site, I lose regrets Atoned to lift out there a wire At looking down, I’m in the same attire
Now I look at language packs Now I see these purple sacks Nowen are sinking from my tired eyes Now purple sacks I little despise
To anyplace I wish to escape To a link that will encape Tomorrow will just be tomorrow To me, at least, it brings me sorrow
On these keys, I type so fast On this spell check, my brain will blast Onward bound I click and type On bended knee, in all this hype
Unknown to me, I type in French Inconnu si je comprends ceci par pouce Inconnusé comme a haloed chantent Inconnu à eux, je signale un rant
The point of the last stanza is beyond me The very thing is merely free…versed These verses make one story, though The life on this computer will make your mind dough”
Three of four hits of the enter key, I still am typing this sullenly:
“I want out.”
So frustrated, and in a fit, I whack the computer and call it a piece of…FIG TREE! A blur upon my screen would show That maybe that wasn’t the smartest go…
“I want out. I want out. I want out. Ermac; Computer Error Keyboard not detected. Hit any key to continue.”
