Allison Barberie paused for a moment, trying to take it all in. It was her first day of school, and she was getting overwhelmed. Not because it was her first day of high school, or the fact that some of her friends were not there... no, it was because she was psychic. Her mom, dad, and brother also had the ability, though she didn't know if it was a gift or a curse. Her friend Amy approached. "Hey, Allie, are you ok?" Only her best friends knew about her ability, and they were always careful about it. She sighed. "No. Something's wrong." Amy bit her lip. "Will something happen?" Allie gasped. "TREVOR! MOVE RIGHT NOW!!!!" she screamed and dove at him, pulling him to the side. Out of no where a wooden beam fell directly to where he had been standing. It went silent. Her new Science teacher came out of the classroom. "What is...OH! When did this fall?" A boy stepped forward. "Allison over there yelled at Trevor to move and when he didn't she jumped at him and pulled him to the side. A second later the beam fell to where he was standing." The teacher looked at her. "Do you have any involvement in this besides supposedly saving this boy?" She looked down. "I..." He took her by the arm and started to lead her to his office. Damn, she thought, why does everything always have to go wrong when I predict stuff?
