I am sorry. I must disagree with this. We are not to judge this man's, or anyone's behavior. We each have flaws that we ask people to tolerate. Shouldn't the same consideration be first extended to others? The world is homogenized enough as it is. We must realize that we are all unique personalities, blessed with different gifts, and cursed with our individual character flaws. Most of you do not know me here. However, I am a Transgendered person. That probably makes me more conscious of the harm misjudgement and prejudice can work in someone's life. Perhaps, you should have asked him about the purchases instead of relying on idle speculation, and inuindo. This person might have amazed you with the reason for his selections. However, all you saw was how 'different' he was. What a waste! Another chance to connect with someone on a human level squandered to fear. You say "he is 'weird'" or "he is a 'leper'" or "he is Transgendered." Does anyone of these things make one less human? Do you have any reason to oustracize anyone for being different? Consider the person before you condemn the behavior. That is the enlightened approach of civilized people.

Though, I do think that this is strange behaviour it's not illegal. If that's his thing it's his business, the only time it becomes public business is if he's broken the law or hurt someone. Everyone has weaknesses even if they are wierd. Personally, I would have your mom watch the teenagers that come in there if he happens to be in the store at the same time. There is nothing to wrong with being safe. After all he is a stranger.  |

Why is it that when people see something that they don't do, or is outside of 'the norm' for society, they immediatly flip out and label the person a pervert? So he collects womens underwear, so what? Is that really any different from collecting, say, shoes, or baseball caps, or t-shirts? No, its just not something that is as widespread, so why is he 'perverted' for doing this? There is no harm in it, provided he isn't trying to hurt anyone, and there is little or no evidence that suggests that here.  |

Individual "character flaws" and a guy who states "he collects" women's underwear and then selects a teen size would immediately raise my brow. Now I could care less who you choose, UNLESS it is a child, I could care less what sex you are, unless you prefer children, I could care less what you collect, but any guy who "collects" women's undergarments, particularily in teen sizes, and publicly stating this, is opening the door for others to think what they will. Wonder why he felt the need to EVEN make that statement?  |

Who knows what he wants them for though? He may be an artist, looking to use them in some way as a basis for a piece he's working on. He may like the look of them, and simply want to have a variety he can look at. He may want to wear them. Do any of these things matter? No. sure, its not something I would do, but then I collect things that not many other people do, like certain books, or sticks that I like the look of. I don't expect everyone to do it too, but its what I like to do, so why should a person have such predjdice leveled at them for something so slight? |

It is when he "behaves" in a way that makes others uncomfortable, making statements randomly that he "collects" underwear. WHY wouldn't he just buy them and keep his mouth shut? |

I dunno.. that is a little strange.. more so that it was underwear and stuff for a teenager. If it was womens, then I would just brush it off as he may be a crossdresser. No biggie. Now, this is just me, but I would have called the police and said.. This may be nothing, but (then tell them what took place) It could be that this man is harmless, but what if he isn't. God Bless  |

I have one more thing to add. I've read the responses and I agree with most of them. The thing is KoolGal, if you feel uncomfortable about it and your mom feels uncomfortable about it. Then your right to be suspicous. Your instinct tells you EVERYTHING. Instinct is a big sense. It tells you when things are wrong. I think that it's wrong to say this guy is harmless when you don't know either way. I say better safe than sorry. LISTEN TO YOUR INSTINCTS. They will lead you right everytime. |
