I am sorry to disagree, but nobody has died for me personally, we only have second or third accounts for this in a book that is over two thousand years old and has been translated so many times, and changed so many times. If he did die for the world then its a good way we are treating it. Dragging its resources out of it and using them all up. Making sure that we are leaving nothing for our children, whose world is so polluted that one in four has a respiratory problem. People dying all over the world needlessly from AIDS, TB, cancer etc. The ozone layer disappearing because one country doesnt want to slow down and find better ways of making things. Countries having weapons of such power that we could blow the world up about a thousand times over. And you say that one man died for us? Even if that was the case do you really think that most people nowadays could care? If some man turned up on the six o'clock news and said "I am the lord Jesus Christ, returned to claim the world for my Father, The Lord Our God" most people would say he was nuts and that he should be locked up. Yes, if he was killed as you described, and records show that there was a carpenters son of about that time who was killed by the romans, it would be extremely painful, but I have never seen any proof within my own life, the lives of those around me or the world in general that God exists, that he put someone on this earth and that that son died for the sake of the human race. By the way if Mary and Joseph were married and she had a son by God, doesnt that make God an adulterer? |

I know it is not a debate and I am not intolerant of your views, you are welcome to them. By the way, if they were not married that does conjure up some interesting questions... as mary and God were not married Jesus was born out of wedlock. |

CoryAnn, your statment was rude and close minded. "Jesus is Lord. You'll see some day" is quite a foolish thing to say if you want someone to respect YOUR beliefs.
YOU believe jesus if the lord. Great. That doesn't mean he is. Someone else might believe shiva is the lord, also wonderful, but doesn't make them right.
It's a matter of opinion and belief.

And if Jesus was born out of wedlock, is God not subject to his own Commandments? "Thou shalt not commit adultery" I don't know that I would want to be saved by a God who didn't even listen to himself. And also, Christ was not the only one who suffered during his crucifixtions, do you think that all those other guys got crucified by roses? Should I hail the theives and murders who were crucified as my saviors as well? And let's not even go into the fact that Christ's crucifixtion would have meant nothing as a parable if Judas's hadn't betrayed him because then there would be nothing to compare Christ's goodness to. Should I not honor Judas as my partial savior as well? <regretfulhalo> |

Could you share the name of the author, I'd like to share this book with someone. It is so sad and heart breaking and how many of us would allow our sons to be treated this way to save even one other person. Thank you GOD. I pray to God each day to keep working on me, like the bible song says," He's still working on me to make me what I ought to be".Praise God for caring this much for me. |

Ya know what Cory Ann. I'm so sorry about these people that responded to your story so...I can't even think of the word. Ya know, we are all entitled to our beliefs, that doesn't give a person or persons the right to put down someone else. That goes for Christians too. It really saddens me to see HUMAN BEINGS being ugly to others simply because they believe different. For the record. Cory Ann, You and I and thousands, millions of others ARE right. God smiled at you today as you tried to share His word, but don't take it personally, they just don't know the story. |

No man or professed son of God died for me. If you read without questioning then you will take in all sorts of untruths. It is only a story to keep the simple minded of the time from knowing the truth. That is what I believe. No God, real or imagined has 'done' anything for me. I have done it for myself. |

True, this is not in debate, however ity *is* in discussion, therefore people who have opinions that differ should be allowed to express them. what about all the people that 'know' that they are right and you are wrong? I know you'll not agree with them, and they will not agree with you, thats what faith and beliefs are about, something you as a person believe in, it does not matter if you are right or wrong, nor should anyone judge what other people believe as right or wrong. |

Thanks for the comments. I do not judge other people for what hey believe. If I think I'm right and your wrong. That's okay too! I have a right to think whatever I want:) And so do you. Isn't that wonderful:) And to the person who said I was rude for saying I'm right and your wrong. Guess what? You have the right to feel that way:) |

CoryAnn thanks for your posting. Please do not be upset by negative responses. Jesus did show us the way - and, it is not smooth. Even some of my religious relatives and friends were shocked when my firstborn was deaf, "Oh my, you must have really sinned!" Yes, I have sinned in my time, but my faith has sustained me - and, sounds like it is sustaining you! Were they punishing me and my son? What wonderful messages and love we have learned because of the deafness! Did you know that all of us with all of our hearing and speech do not communicate any better than we do with the deaf? RAT |

Number one, Mary was not married to Joseph when Jesus was concieved. Jesus was concieved by imaculent conception, not through fleshly intercourse, so no sexual sin was in place here. Also adultry is when two people that are married to other people have sex together. LOL, How could God or Mary commit adultry?? REGRETFULHALO, it wasnt because of his death it was because of his Shed blood that this blood was pure, ,with out sin, untainted, and that is what it took to take back what adam gave away. |

Rat what some seem to not understand is that Jesus tells us that satan comes to kill, steal and destroy that is the the author of sickness and disease. Sure lots of time WE may reap what we sow, but under the new covenant God is not going to place anything on our children for something that we have done. People just dont care to understand the spiritual laws that God has, and so they make stupid remarks such as BOY did you sin. God healed me of hypoglacmia and I've seen Him heal others of so many worse things that what I had, He can heal your son. I dont understand why sometimes people dont get healed and why sometimes they do. Only God knows, but God does say, " I"m the God that healeth thee." |

Rat... thanks LOL. I am a non-believer in a Christian God or the bible. However, I do believe in a life after physical death, but that is where we part company. Indeed, we may meet but it won't be for you to say "I told you so" LOL. As for 'stealing heaven' I do agree that a lot of people live a life of selfishness and cruelty only to be 'saved' on the deathbed. The truth is there is no last minute saving for anyone. The spirit world is open to all religions and non-religions. Our spiritual environment will be in line with how we lived our lives, not in some last minute acknowlegement of a Jesus. Our greatest judge is ourselves and we can't escape ourselves. Cheers. |
