It Certainly Was An Experience ¤Frankenstein¤

Dad and I went out to pay some bills a couple of weeks ago. We went all over town together. We talked and laughed and got a got a few things done. When we were finally finished, we left there and headed home. We were almost here (see, we live in the same little neighborhood) when he ran up on the curb for no reason. Dad's elderly and he can't help it. I would have done that for him but I can't do that legally now so there's no way that I'm going to do it. It made both of the tires on his side of the car blow out and we were pretty much stuck.

Two very nice guys happened along and were kind enough to pull over and try to help. One looked like a regular, decent guy but he wasn't really too friendly. It just meant lot to us that he was there. The other one wasn't wearing a shirt, he had tattoos all over him and hair down to his rear end. He wasn't a pretty sight. He was a treasure! He did his best for us and we said, "What do we owe you?" He said, "You don't owe us a freaking thing!" Well, not really quite those words but you get the idea if you're old enough. See? There are some very good people in the world and you certainly can never, ever judge a book by it's cover. I hope you take that as a lesson. If you do, it will serve you well.

Date: 7/13/2003 11:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 53909    Frank, I think this is a very good post. It shows that there are very good people out there and to never judge a book by it's cover, like you said. I hate being judged on and people look at me sometimes as if I'm a freak and they get surprized when I help them out or when they find how friendly and nice I am. Good post.

Date: 7/14/2003 12:07:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 47699    Thanks, DP. I'll fix that now. I'm sleepy. Well, I'm old, too. Being old and sleepy isn't a good combination.

Date: 7/14/2003 8:30:00 AM  From Authorid: 58611    Very good lesson to be learned in life Frank! Thanks for posting! I learned a lot about this when I met and married my husband, who is mexican. Thanks for posting!
Date: 7/14/2003 11:29:00 AM  From Authorid: 62181    I learned this lesson a long time ago. It's so very true. Remember that Ted Bundy looked like a very decent person....so it goes to show you (as my grandmother used to say you can't tell how far a frog can jump by counting the spots on his back.) Peace
