Hey ya'll how many of you use contacts, i have some questions for you.. i'm considering getting em and i need some questions answered...

kay question one, what brand do you use, how long have you been using them? Do you use daily kind? why or why not? how much did they cost (before insurance)? What else do i need to know?

I have like 20/100 or whatever, (actually i think it's worse than that...) can't go 3 feet away from the computer and clearly see without my glasses....

Date: 7/24/2003 5:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 62221    I usually use ColorBlends by Freshlook or clear contacts by Encore. I haven't used the daily ones cause they cost a little bit more. The color contacts can cost anywhere from $29-$40 for 6 pairs and they only last 2 weeks. The clear ones I get are like $19 for 6 pairs. And they are monthly so that's pretty good. One tip I will give you, is don't buy them from your doctor. Get your prescription and go to www.visiondirect.com. They are SO much cheaper. Good Luck & HUGS *Brown Eyed Angel*
Date: 7/24/2003 5:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 53909    I've been using contacts for a few years now. I forget what brand I'm using though. I'm using the disposable ones. Ones that you throw out each month. I didn't use insurance for mine. I got mine I think around 60 bucks for 6 boxes. Just make sure that you clean them everyday. Don't use them in the shower or swimming. Very important that you keep them clean.
Date: 7/24/2003 6:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 53909    The 60 bucks was also for the eye checkup or whatever too acutally.
Date: 7/24/2003 6:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 62221    Wow, you got a really good deal there Punk Star Chik. Where did you go? I went to Pearle and my exam itself was like $80. *Brown Eyed Angel*
Date: 7/24/2003 6:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 16849    I use Acuvue 2 (sp?) and I am too lazy to take them out and put them in every day so I sleep with them and my eyes are now pretty bad. I have had them for a while.... not exactly sure how long though.
Date: 7/24/2003 7:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 54084    I have Acuvue Daily. I think it was $90 for a three month supply. The eye exam was included. I've worn them for about 20 years.
Date: 7/24/2003 8:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 8184    I use the Acuvue 2 kind (daily, soft). I'm not sure about the cost...I never really asked my mom about that. Um, I use the soft kind and with them you take em out every night and aren't usually slept in. I've slept in them once and they made my eyes puffy, dry, and itchy (I don't recommend doing that). My aunt uses the hard kind which I don't think you have to take out daily. I hope this and the other info you got helps out!

Date: 7/25/2003 9:44:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 58030    sooo moon angel, they last for a month?
Date: 7/27/2003 4:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    I wear custom brands....constantly changing cause one of my doctors is never satisfied....but I've been in them for about 4 years for now...my right lense is a 3 month...my left a 6 month and mine AFTER insurance are 99 a lense...before I have no clue
