“Take the other children with you back to the kingdom sweetie, take them back, go as fast as you can and don’t look…” Alice’s eyes slowly closed and she took one more breath. After an hour of fighting, it became quiet. The once blue waters of the lake were turned red. Chris looked up, wounded with a cut on his arm and a slash on his leg at the other men and women covered in cuts and blood. “I think it’s time to go back home.” Meanwhile back in Light Kingdom the King walked to the river to fill his pail of fresh water. As he scooped out the water he looked into the pail and saw red water. His eyes began to drip tear after tear. “They didn’t ask for much but for a little more freedom as any man would. I took advantage of the fact they had one day off and thought they should at least be forever grateful on their parts. Dear people, please forgive me.” The small little girl with all the other children at her side walked up to the King. “Sir we’re back, we had no choice. We, we were attacked, and, most of our mommy’s and daddy’s are now…” She began to cry and the King held her close. “It’s ok little girl, it’s ok. Things are going to change around here, I promise you.” The King assured her. “Thank you sir.” The little girl responded shyly. She picked up his hand and put her tiny little hand in his and looked up at him, and smiled.
