Now I lay me down, and weep,
For every road, has been to steep.
I close my eyes and pray for sleep,
But I know my heart, you keep.

If I should find before I wake,
A pilow warm, from the breath you take,
I will know my hearts' at stake,
and try to make my smile not fake.

For Now I lay me down to rest,
I know you tried to hide the rest,
I smelled her perfume, only the best,
on my pillow, and now is the test.

Now I lay me down to sleep,
And pray that you will find your peace,
I know the morning will bring more sleet,
upon our love, which once was sweet.

Now I lay me down and weep,
