thought I would share my haunting stories.

I have been reading alot of your stories so I thought I would tell you of a few of mine.

When I was in high school we moved to a new house. One day I went to take a nap and was sort of in that twilight where I was just falling asleep. No one was home but whenever I started to fall asleep i could hear two men talking in the living room, however, when I would wake up it would be complete silence. The type of silence that is defening if that makes any sense. Then I would start to go back to sleep, hear the voices, wake up and complete silence. Ok, so I thought I was just dreaming. I moved out shortly after in with my grandparents, for personal reasons, so I didn't live in that house for very long. Years later my brother and sister told me of strange occurances in that house and my brother told me one night he saw a face on the wall.

At my grandparents house they went out of town for a week. I had 2 friends from school stay with me while they were gone. My grandparents had lived in the house for about 30 years at the time. All of my Aunts and Uncles and my mother were raised there. They would tell stories of weird things happening. One night when my aunt was in grade school she woke up and saw a giant ghostly hand moving up and down, I know it sounds funny but it turns out my mom who was older than her and in high school was having a seance (sp?) with her friends for fun.

Anyway, my friend and I were going out for the night and we decided to leave a tape recorder going with a blank tape to see if when we came back we would hear any noises or anything. When we listened to the tape, you can hear us leaving, shuting the door, and even the car starting up and driving away. About 10 minutes later you can hear a loud door slamming. It was so weird, we didn't listen to the rest of the tape.

A few years later I rented a house with a roommate. In our front living room we had no furniture but we had some pictures on the wall. We were sitting on the floor and I was leaning up against the wall, not directly under a picture but the picture was about 6 inches to the left of me. My roommate was sitting in front of me facing me. All of the sudden I feel something hit my head. I looked at my roommate and she was white as a ghost. I was like, what the heck was that. The picture had flown off the wall and hit me in the head. A couple of days later my Aunt had come over to visit us. We were sitting in the same room and we were telling her about what happen. As we were telling her that it turned midnight and an alarm clock we had in an extra bedroom that we used as a "dressing room" had gone off. Me and my roommate ran back there to turn it off. As I was walking back toward the living room I walked past my bedroom and my bed was unmade (I always make my bed religiously). The bedspread and sheets had been turned down and the pillows were flung all over the room. I thought my aunt or roommate had done it as a joke. They swear they did not.

That night I was too afraid to sleep in my room so I slept with my roommate in her room and my aunt stayed the night and slept in my room. All of the sudden a picture from the wall in my room fell off and broke. My aunt left that night. A few days later another picture in my room fell off the wall and broke but no one was in there. After that night nothing else strange happened in that house.

A year later I moved into my own apartment. My sister and her son needed a place to stay so they ended up moving in with me. My nephew was 2 at the time. I don't recall anything strange happening at first then a few months after we moved in my nephew started waking up in the middle of the night hysterical. It was so hard to calm him down. Then one night I was sleeping and I woke up and I thought my nephew was standing at the foot of my bed. I was half asleep and trying to adjust my eyes but I remember it seemed like he was all lite up. My bedroom door was on the wall my bed was against so he would have been standing in front of my bedroom door and I though maybe the light from the hall was behind him, lighting him up. (these were all my thought in just a matter of seconds) I called his name and he just kept standing there looking at me, then I realized the boy was too big to be my nephew, he looked like he was around 8 years old with a different haircut as my nephew. The I could see his arm was up holding on the the door handle. I looked and the door was shut and my room was completly dark. I closed my eyes and started screaming for my sister. She came in and turned on the light and I told her what happened. In that apartment many times I could feel someone sit down on my bed while I was sleeping or feel like a cat jumping up on the bed. I did have a cat and I would look and the cat would not even be in the room.

A few years later I moved in with my Aunt. In that house I would see someone walk by out of the corner of my eye, but no one would be there. One night I thought my cousin walked by and went into the living room. I happened to be standing at the refrigerator looking for something to eat and I heard footsteps and then, from the corner of my eye I saw something white pass by and go into the living room. As I said I thought it was my cousing walking by and I thought the white was a shirt she was wearing or something. So the living room was pitch black, no one was in there and then no light went on. So I called her name, no answer, I go hey, what are you doing in there? no answer, I went in there and there was no one there. I went to her room and I go, did you just walk into the living room and she said, no I have been in my room. In that house I also always felt like someone was at the end of my bed watching me. I would wake up and see a big dark figure like 7 feet tall. It was creepy.

Then I moved into another apartment. My neighbor told me someone had died there and that the previous resident had weird things happen and one night a loaf of bread flew off the counter. But when I moved in, nothing weird happened at all.

From there I got a job at a different apartment community and moved onto the property. I moved in shortly after my father died. Little things started happening like one day I could not find this gold braclet I had. I thought I must have lost it while I was wearing it or something. A few days later I was cleaning and had moved a plant that I had sitting on a desk in the corner. I moved the plant to dust and I found the bracelet there. In a little ball in the corner. There is no way it could have fallen off my arm in that corner, i never had any reason to reach back there, this was a built in desk, not one that I just had some knick knacks and plants on, not that I actually used as a desk.

Then one day I left my apt to go to work and came back and my tv was on at full volume. I never even watch tv in the morning so I knew I didn't leave it on. Also some other things would turn up missing or moved and I began to think that the maintenance men were coming into my apartment. I had an alarm but they had a master code to all of the apt alarms along with master keys so they were the only ones that could come in and turn off the alarm and turn it back on again when they left.

Later all kinds of weird things would happen, one night I was laying on the couch watching tv and the light from the ceiling fan just turned on. I turned it off and a few minutes later it turned on again. One day I was cleaning and I heard like a clinking sound and I turned around and a glass candle holder I had had just shattered. One night I laid down to go to sleep and I heard a man talking in my ear. One night I was watching tv and I heard a noise come from one of the rooms and I went in and the smoke detector was pulled down from the ceiling. I was never afraid, I kinda thought it was my dad because when he was dying and sort of in a coma I told him if he was able to, to please come back and let me know he was alright. I never told anyone of the stuff happening in my apartment, none of our residents or employees, I didn't want them to think I was crazy, but soon a residents father called. She was a college student and told her dad that her room had been ransacked. She never called the police or the office but her dad wanted us to go check on her. We went there with a police officer and when she got home from school her drawers were all taken out of her dresser and turned upside down on the floor. The cop asked her a bunch a questions, there were no signs of broken entry, etc.. Finally she said, I know this sounds stupid but I heard this place was haunted. Another resident came in and said had come home and all of the stuff on her dresser, perfume bottles and stuff were on the floor. It looked like someone had taken their arm and just swept it across the top of her dresser and wiped everything onto the floor. Then a girl that worked in the office who also lived there said one night she heard a banging. She came out of her room and heard a Ssshhhhhh! like a man saying be quiet. She ran to get her male neighbor because she thought someone was in the apartment. He came over and check everything out and no one was there. Later they were sitting on the couch and then heard the banging again and the SHHHHH again. The guy got so scared he left. I never told her what went on in my apartment but she told me that story and then told me that when her roommate moved in with her she said at night when she went to bed she kept hearing someone whispering in her ear. The girl said at first she just thought her roommate was a weirdo but now she totally believes her.

After I moved out of that apartment, nothing strange has happened. So far! :)

Date: 8/8/2003 2:41:00 AM  From Authorid: 62085    good stories, Tatum, the dark figure by the bed, and whispering in your ear, and weight being put on the bed, all sound like a incubus, or sucubus, a attacker of those who are at sleep. they are responsible for the phenomon known as "sleep paralysis". I did alot of study on the subject, since i went thru those experiences many times when i was in my 20's.. a spirit likes to make it presence known by slamming of a door, a banging, or knocking noise. it signals the arrival. What really sparked my interest was the illuminated boy. I had a similar experience with a creature that 'glowed', just as you had described.
Date: 8/11/2003 12:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 62310    Wow, that is some creepy stuff. Seems like you have bad luck with apartment buildings. I have experienced similar things like my stuff being moved into a place where I would never put it, feeling a cat jump on the bed or someone sit on it. Thanks for sharing this with us. Princess Rhianon
Date: 8/11/2003 12:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 62310    LOL I misspelled my own name, how silly is that?...Princess Rhiannon
Date: 8/12/2003 2:22:00 AM  From Authorid: 62265    whoooaaa...freaky deaky...I know I'm never gonna go there...
Date: 8/30/2003 4:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 55903    Now I know I am not alone in having many varied experiences in many different places!! I guess some people are more sensitive like they say. cause some folks swear they never experience anything like that! Or are they just too afraid to admit that some things can't be explained!
Date: 9/1/2003 4:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 22681    that's a lot of things!-and you've moved a lot in your life, so far!
