Have you tried talking to your coaches? Maybe they felt they needed someone with experience to be on JV to help the younger girls out? It's still a bummer though Hang in there, maybe one of the girls on Varsity will get hurt and you'll get bumped up :P |

If you are not having any fun doing this, that is a huge reason in itself! You need to be enjoying what you do, to function with "pizazz" .. I think you should sit down with your coaches, and explain what you are feeling to them. Good Luck hon. |

that's strange, our Varsity can only have junior and senior, and JV only sophomore and freshman. have you ever thought that maybe they want you on JV because you can help improve the squad? They think you're good enough to coach the younger ones. Don't look at it on such a negative side... why quit now? you have next year, and if you love cheerleading you wouldn't quit over this...hang in there hun, it'll be okay! |

If your not having fun that is a good enough reason in its self to quit. Don't feel bad either. My friend thought she was going to be on Varsity because she was on it last year, but got on JV as well. I know her and a few other girls quit because of it. Good luck |

Thank you all for your advice. I have decided to quit (actually I just did not 15 minutes ago). I handed in my uniform and a letter that I worte them. They didn't even seem to care! They probably knew I would. The girls on the team (who were still there waiting for rides) were concerned, but even thoguh they were really nice, I knew I didn't want to be on the team anymore, I just was not having any fun and I know I would have quit sooner or later. |

Midnightly, I've been on the team for years now and I know for a fact that they wouldn't move me up. Lol. But Even if they did, I don't beleive I would be having fun doing it. |

personally I think the only good reason you have is your not enjoying it.....the others I don't really think are great reasons.....BUT if your not enjoying yourself that's really the only reason you need....good luck |

I think not...quitting can become a habit.....hang in there.....look at it as a challenge.....to see if you can overcome your own disappointment and still be the best side base they have with a smile on your face. Cheerleaders are there to inspire others......work with the team...be a team member and you know as you said that your friends are not there at that level.....then you have an opportunity to demonstrate maturity, leadership and friendship while making new friends. Good luck. |

Thank you both for your advice. I know quitting can become a habit, but I normally make myself hang in there. I have for the past two years I've been cheerleading. It just that for some reason I just felt that I could not keep going with this and live a lie to myself. I felt humiliated and degraded by being the oldest put on JV, but not having any fun was my main reason. What's the point in doing something like this if you can't put your whole heart into it? |

Agent Q, i must say i agree with you decision. you are probabaly right that you deserve to be on varisty and if your not having fun why bother? i didn't have fun for a few years on the soccer team and they never moved me up even though i knew and even proved i was better than others. i didn't even sign up for it this year and i feel so liberated. though quitting can become a habit, it is needed sometimes. |

Well you had a good reason to quite the team and that reason was your not haveing fun. Quite if your not happy there sometimes you do not need a good reason for not enjoying yourself but not haveing fun is a good enaf reason to quite. And by the way the other reasons were good reasons to quite aswell.
