Author’s Note- I’m sorry if these parts may have taken a long time to post. School is starting soon, so I might not be able to post a lot of parts really fast. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the story so far.
“To make matters worse, there is a special effect that Cethra will bestow upon you. You see, my lord, Cethra is very much like Earth, especially the landscape. Humans don’t exist there, but in their place are different creatures. They can be either tough, weak, nice, evil, shy, outgoing, etc. Gravity also exists there, almost the same amount as on Earth. However, like gravity, there is another special force there. We call it “Deceithos,” and it won’t be of much use to you. Deceithos cuts down the ability of speed, strength, and the five senses, which are taste, touch, smell, sight, and hearing. What happens is that as soon as you enter Cethra, Deceithos acts like a pair of sunglasses that cut down the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Whatever your ability of speed, strength, and the five senses are will be cut in half, then in half again. However, it won’t work on Reikos, since he is a demon. It will work on you, and some of the beings that live in Cethra, not all of them.”
Jeff didn’t like the idea of becoming that much weaker, and it suddenly came to his mind that if he is weaker, won’t Reikos be able to overpower him? So, Jeff asked Juya, “Wait, if I become that much weaker, then won’t Reikos be more powerful than me?”
Juya answered him, “Don’t worry, my lord. With Deceithos cutting down your abilities, you will be weaker than Reikos. However, we are sure that the journey you will go on will strengthen you even further. After crossing Cethra, after all the hard work of climbing over mountains, swimming through oceans, and much, much more, we are sure that you will develop into a more formidable person, stronger in every way. Then, you will fight and destroy Reikos, and The Above will be saved again.”
After listening to Juya, Jeff remembered that he had psimo inside of him, so he asked how psimo could help him. Juya simply said, “Yes, of course, my lord, your psimo will definitely prove worthy. Deceithos won’t cut down your psimo, so you can use psimo to your advantage. However, don’t overuse it, since sleeping is the only way you can regain it back, and sleeping in Cethra isn’t always safe. Oh, one more thing, have you practiced the art of energy manipulation?”
Jeff told Juya that he had been practicing for thirty minutes a day, and that to the best of his abilities, it would take him about five minutes to make a visible ball of energy appear in his hands.
After hearing that, Juya replied, “Well, you are still a novice, but your ability of controlling energy might prove useful. In conclusion, you have energy and psimo to help you out, so Deceithos won’t be that much of a problem.”
Jeff liked the idea of having backup, so that he wouldn‘t be vulnerable. Then, suddenly, from out of the blue, the thought of The Ceremony hit Jeff, and he asked Juya what it was.
Juya’s eyes suddenly opened wide, and he looked at Lily, who just nodded her head. Juya then turned to Jeff, and told him something that Jeff never knew about: his true past.
He began by saying, “My lord, what I am about to tell you will change your life forever. You have to listen very carefully as to what I am about to say.”
Jeff nodded his head, motioning for Juya to continue.
Juya took a deep breath, and continued.
