It's just a default background. I've seen the same background on other websites. There is an archieve link somewhere around here, I think the earliest post was like 1992 or something like that. No, I like it the way it is. I think that the Steering committee is still around, haven't heard much about them though.  |

I resigned from the steering committee as nothing was being done. I think we had to many people from too many time zones and it just was hard to all get together. I was off line for several times , due to having to move as we do each season and felt that I couldnt stay on top of things that way. Agent smith also quit the committee. When I logged back on I saw that many had not bothered to log on even since I had left because of NOT being on line. I dont know what they are going to do, or if they are going to do anything about the committee.  |

In my eyes the Steering Committee was little more than a Trojan Horse...set up to placate the desenting voices without actually having any real intention of doing anything, that became apparent with the lack of response by those who could implement what was being suggested. I resigned once that became apparent...preferring to not be involved in something that looked every bit a facade. But then hey, I'm a paranoid Conspiracy Theorist...so meh, whats new...  |

The steering committee was like riding in the back seat of your Mom and Dad's car with a little toy steering wheel. You could turn it all you wanted and pretend you were doing something when in fact all the control was elsewhere. I found other things to do with my Sunday nights and resigned myself to the fact that USM is USM and that's not worth me getting excited about one way or the other. Let it be.  |

well, I think the bg is cool so maybe that is why it is the way it is LOL they heard that cblossom likes it and decided to make me happy I think on the 7th day God made USM when he was resting:P I think that USM would do better to be a little more lax with this G rating thing. I heard some of the rumors of what the committee was going to do and wanted no part of it. besides, i much more enjoy just whining about it:P no, seriously...change is not going to be the way we want..ever. we must just accept it or move on, especially regarding this site. we have seen too many leave.
