Ahhh...I was always the geek, nerd, wierdo... whatever. I really don't think it matters what anyone says. You said it yourself-he's got a great personality. When you move on, and out of high school, every person who's opinion you think matters will just seem like shadow of the past. That's all they will be. After all, that's all they are to me. I'm 21 years old and I live with the COOLEST people known to man...we were all outcasts in some sort of way. Geeks, freaks, loners...I wouldn't trade them for ANYTHING!!! Whatever was said about me in the past doesn't matter. I know that my household loves me and accepts me. That's what truly matters. In the end, your true friends will be there when everyone else is gone. I really hope this helps. I hope that you can also overcome what's going on. *hug* Take care.  |

Just get it in your head that you don't care. Would you rather take a chance and go out with a loser and have the greatest time in your life or care what a few people think? If you want to go out with him, you should. It's your decision. I reached a point where I didn't really care what people thought of me. I've lost two guys (the only two I've ever cared about) because I was too worried what other people would think. The first I moved away from and the second moved away from me. I think back and tell myself that if I wouldn't have worried what other people thoughtwe could be together or still friends. Now, I have no idea where these people are and it drives me insane...  |

Ok, the song by Avril Lavigne comes to mind here..LOL..Sk8rboi...(I think that is how its spelled) You could not bother with him so that you can stay "popular" and possibly lose out on something great, or you could bite the bullet and talk to him and take the time to REALLY get to know him. The choice is yours my dear.  |

You have just got to think would you be happy doing all the stuff they want you to do by the sounds of it you don't. In this case to impress them you have to not like someone you obisously care about alot it sounds like you will not be haveing fun trying to impress them. And for what. We can't help it we all sometimes end up doing stuff we would rather not so they don't say or think stuff about us but once you really think whats the point why should it bother us anyway what they say or think should not stop us from doing what makes us happy. You will have alot more fun once you have blocked the fear of what they will think from your mind. I use to shy aswell and I use to let this sort of thing get to me but now that I just do what Makes me happy it's all right now what they say can't really hurt. But in know how it feels and if you don't like any of the popular people that should give you less resoan to bend over backwards to impress them. *Cosmic Freak* |

I used to be like that too...but now stuff like that doesn't really matter to me. One of the most important things you'll learn in life, is that high school does NOTHING to prepare you for the real world. Once you get of a school where everything is about popularity and status, everyone becomes an ordinary person...not the captain of the football team or president of the Math Club...just a person. And no one's going to care about what your boyfriend was like in high school. Besides, which would you rather have: a popular jock that doesn't seem to understand you at all, or a nerd that makes you laugh and puts you at ease? Think about it... :)  |
