I went to my high school's first school dance of the year last night, and it was soooooooooooooo fun! Me and my friends has a blast, and we danced with our guy friends, and me and my boyfriend Jacob danced to the slow songs and he did the electric slide and he looked like SUCH a dork! Lol. But he was cute. =)
Anyways, towards the end of the dance, me and my friends Val, Emerald, Jamie, Rochelle, Christina, and Brittany were dancing and I just was like just looking around and I saw Jacob talking to our friend Jodi (who's a guy) and this girl named Britney. Lately, Britney has become friends with my guy friends because my friend Aaron helped her out when this older girl threatened to beat her up.
Well, Britney was wearing Jacob's shirt. And I was like...ok, big deal. I really didn't get why in the 150 degree gym she would want to wear a long-sleeved, dark blue shirt over her regular outfit but whatever.
Then Jacob, Britney, and Jodi were sitting down off to the side talking or whatever and me and my friends all went over to them and I was like, "Hi!" And Christina sat down right in between Jacob and Britney and I was standing next to Jacob's chair with Emerald and the other Brittany.
And jeez, Britney didn't talk at all! Gosh we even tried talking to her and all she would do is smile.
I know she has been having problems lately. There's the girl who wants to beat her up, plus she likes Jodi but Jodi has a girlfriend, and I'm sure there's more to it. But seriously...dances are supposed to be fun but she just SAT there. She didn't dance or talk or anything.
Well, my dad came half an hour early because he said he wanted to "check things out" for half an hour before we left at 11:00. So I went back over to Jacob and I was like, "My dad's here." And he looked at me as if to kiss me good-bye, and I said, "No, I don't have to leave, but we should all go over THERE." And I pointed to the other side of the gym. He said, "But I'm RESTING." And I said, "So? You can get up and walk over there and rest some more." And Jacob looked at Britney and of course she didn't move or talk. Then he looked back at me and said, "Can I bring the chair?" I said, "Yeah...." He looked back and Britney. Then he looked back at me, not moving at all. And I was like, "Fine" and I went back to where my other friends are and he stayed there with Britney.
That was the last I talked to him at all last night.
Jacob is a very caring guy, and I guess I can understand how if Britney was having problems, he would want to be there for her. But HONESTLY...it's the night of the first dance and we were having a blast together all night until he sat down with Britney. I don't know what to make of it. When he was going out with my friend Danielle over the summer, he started to like me and he did the same thing to me back then as he did to Britney last night. Do you get what I'm saying?
What do you think I should do? I think I should just let it slide...but it's weighing on my mind and...well, I don't know.
