My Aunt went missing when she was nine years old (Born Feb. 4, 1957). She disappeared from Big Whiteshell Provincial Park, Manitoba, Canada, on June 18, 1966. At the time of her disappearance Kim was about 75 pounds and was four feet four. She had short straight black hair and had even white teeth and she was only wearing a two piece red bathing suit.
The search for her was one of the largest in Canadian history which include hundreds of volenteers, EMO officials, conservation officers, soldiers, RCMP and Armed Forces. To this day we have no idea what happened to her. The Armed Forces dragged the lake for several days but no body was found. After 2 weeks of searching and following up on leads she was presumed dead by drowning.
She was apparently seen in Radium Hot Springs,BC, with a young man in September of 1966 but no solid leads came about. Several remains of bodies were brought to our attention over the years but none of them were Kim's.
My family still hopes that she was kidnapped and is still alive but all of our leads have come up cold. Now that my Grandfather is dying I am trying everthing in my power to try and solve this unsolved mystery of our family's tragedy.
