Not only women get attacked this way. The last time I heard of an attack like this it was on a man who was being robbed and had his car stolen after he was murdered. |

Hey guys I have no idea if this is true or false. I have never tried it. My Mom and her bestfriend almost fell victim to crime like this though. scary is right. One time I was getting pulled over and I made him follow me to the next gas station and he was marked. I don't care marked or not I am gonna be around people. You never know if it is a crooked cop and or someone who stole a cop car. |

I know that in the Washington, DC metro area, where I live, there are signs saying to dial #77 for State Police. I don't know if this is true all over the US but it is around here. |

cus it's probly like dialing 911... you get in trouble if it's not an emergency, you could still just dial 911

There is a version of this on Snopes.com. I doubt that #77 from a cell phone is a direct line to police dispatch, for one thing, it's a cell phone, and therefore travels with you, so does it give you dispatch for your local area, and if so, what if you're "roaming" and not in your local area? The snopes version does involve a cell phone, but in that version, the girl does pull over and is not allowed by the madman to use her phone. This urban legend is true, but it is not, as the girl made up the whole tale to cover her butt because she missed curfew. |
