COSTUMES by Man Of Asgard (I'll dedicate this one to Des, Bethann and Blizzy (PA)

I have worn a lot of costumes just dressing up for fun.
And not only for Halloween, though that's a special one.
I've played each game kids play today; I’ve dressed up like a clown.
I've been a racecar driver and a pitcher on a mound.

I've worn clothes like a rock star such as Elvis and the lot.
I've been a deep-sea diver and I've been an astronaut.
And if you don't wear nothing but a towel after your bath,
You can pretend you're Tarzan and make your parents laugh.

I used to be an Indian brave, with arrows on my back.
I wore a costume mom had made out of a burlap sack.
I made myself a horse from just a broomstick, cloth and rope.
I rode Old Paint on war parties and up a dusty slope.

The best costume I ever made was funnier than that,
One day I dressed my dog up so he looked just like our cat.
With a cape pinned to pajamas, your arms spread from your side,
You'll fly through air like Superman. I know because I've tried.

Sometimes I'd be a cowboy, with my cap guns on my hip.
From an old coat I made chaps and a mustache for my lip.
My cowboy's hat was made of felt, a brim and string chinstrap.
I'd run with the wind in my face and outlaws at my back.

I dressed my sis like the preacher's wife in grandmas worn out suit.
And when she put on mother's hat she actually looked cute.
I like making up costumes: mother says I have the knack.
I've even stuffed clothes in my bed so I could miss my nap.

Someday, when I am all grown up, to Hollywood I'll go.
And I'll make all the costumes in a famous movie show.

Date: 9/22/2003 10:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 42568    I don't need to dress up like a clown to look like one, lol. This poem gave me goose bumps Crusty. Wow... really captures how magical life can be like if you just imagine it that way. I really needed to read something like this tonight because my life has been far from magical lately. And thank you Kurtvedder and VG... that means a lot to me. :)
