This reminds me of someone who is paranoid scitzophrenic trying to talk sense to themself. Like that person's rational breaking through for one moment, for one second they are sane and then nothing...back into madness again. If you have ever read "The Sandman" comic books by Neil Gaiman, you will know this poem belongs to the Lady Delirium, she who was once Delight.
