Thought: Another Day, Another Lump of Droppings O_o
Stop what you're thinking... I meant goat, rabbit, chicken, and cows... ANYTHING that lives on a farm and smells bad!!
I learn (and live on campus) at an Agricultural College Campus in the south of England ^_^ It's lots of fun but sometimes I wish chicken poo didn't smell so bad :-(
I'm trying to decide what I wanaa be specialising in.
There's: Small Mammals (Mice, gerbils, etc) Medium Mammals (Dogs, cats, etc) Large Mammals (Horses, cows, etc)
Then there is the wildlife side of things... Then there's birds, reptiles, marine life, and SO much more!! I want to do maybe... marine animals like marine turtles (eventually maybe Dolphins)... or small mammals... The thing is my thoughts keep returning to Reptiles.
I'm not one for snakes but the Lizard side of things are really very interesting. I love reading about them and their habitats and I enjoy looking after them in the 'Reptile Room' at the College. I really want to specialise in one kind of animal but can't choose!!
I know SOME people would probably think that I should stick to what I'm good at... that's what I thought at first too. SMALL AND MEDIUM SIZED MAMMALS. But I've BEEN around small and medium sized mammals ALL my life... from mice, hamsters (under my special care they can be classed under medium sized ROFL) and gerbils... to rabbits and guinea pigs and then onto cats and dogs.
Don't get me wrong... I love my pets to bits but something keeps telling me to go for the 'not so cuddly' pets like Geckos, iguanas and Basilisks.
Scorpions are one thing I am being taught to handle and, providing you don't stress them (they DO sting!), are quite good pets... Then again... I’d probably NEVER keep them as pets. lol But then again, I hate anything with a sting... especially when they also have lots of legs to watch or, like snakes (some of which have a poisonous bite), non at all!
Snakes, I don't think I mind as much as I do scorpions but then again, I wouldn't ever even *think* of having one as a pet unless it had been de-fanged.

I guess what I need is a brain storm. Something (or someone) to help me decide. *sigh* Any ideas??
Anyway ^_^ I'm gonna go play on the net for a while... and wind down from a hard days work ^_^
