opinions needed on what to do

Ok, I am going to ask everyone a question then I am going to give you the reason why and tell me what you think..............

If you have DIRTY dishes and you put them in water is the water considered dirty or clean?

I have a "roommate" who refuses to do dishes because she refuses to put her hands in dirty dish water. Now if the dishes are dirty isnt that going to make the water dirty? The girl does NOTHING around the house. i have tried talking to her, I have even put notes up around the house, but she refuses to help with anything. She gets up, goes to work, comes home, and goes straight to bed. On her days off she stays in bed until 2:00 or sometimes later. When she gets up she takes a shower and leaves until whenever she feels like coming home. Don't get me wrong she does dirty dishes and other stuff around the house so it isnt like I am asking her to clean up someone elses mess. What should I do. I have told her in the past she is going to have to move if this continues, but she said she isnt going anywhere since she is my brothers girlfriend. As long as they are dating she said she is staying and I am never getting rid of her. She cant even pay the rent on time. I am ready to move out of my own house and go live somewhere else.

Date: 9/23/2003 1:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 33925    Just wash the dishes YOU dirty and keep them in a separate place for a while..After a few days she will get the hint when she has nothing clean to eat or drink from. Leave anything that is hers alone and only clean up what is yours. If anyone comes over make sure to tell them that everything messy belongs to your room mate..Eventually she will get so embarrassed she will hopefully clean up her filth.
Date: 9/23/2003 2:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 11341    I had a room mate who was the SAME way. SHe never made excuses for not cleaning up after herself, she just didnt do it. GRRRRRRR. Good luck. Medusa and LL had good idea, hehe I would try them both.
Date: 9/23/2003 3:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 15228    Buy her rubber gloves, sounds like she is just trying to get out of doing the dishes.
Date: 9/23/2003 3:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 14909    Just move, it's easier. Had the same problem before myself. Good Luck.
Date: 9/23/2003 4:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 62349    I think you should talk to your brother about it and see what he says. If he takes his girlfriends side, I dont know what to tell you. I have never given advice before so go with your heart. =/
Date: 9/23/2003 5:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 59876    baloney she isn't leaving because she is your brother's girlfriend. what a brat to say that to you! i'd tell her to get with the program or get out.
Date: 9/23/2003 7:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 60685    Is it just the two of you over there? And whose name is it on the lease contract if any? If it's just the two of you, you can get the owner of the apartment or landlord to kick her out and if it's your name in the contract you can even get the police to kick her out for you or since she doesn't come home till after work you can take all her stuff out and change the locks in a jiffy. It doesn't matter if she's your brother's gf or if she's one of the President's daughters, she has to pitch in, and if your brother gets mad at you throw him something like " I'd pitty you if you were to marry her, if she's a pig now imagine how she would be once you two get married".
Date: 9/28/2003 10:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 54987    If its your house you have the say who lives in it. Don't give in to that blackmail line of hers about dating your brother. That's his problem, not yours.
Date: 10/15/2003 11:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 62275    Wow, I'd listen to these guys! They have some pretty good adivce! As for myself, I don't think I would be as lienient as you have for this long! Especailly if I were kind enough to let HER live with ME!! Nothing urks me more than someone not pulling their own weight! Then again, I can understand how you would not want to cause hard feelings with your brother. Just tell him, " You try living with her for a while!" ~*Firefly*~
