Amazing! What A Chain Of Events!-----Moon Girl

Well since 4 pm this afternoon some pretty amazing events have taking place! To make a long story short, I got home close to 4pm. I unloaded my food. Then went to check my mail! We have a lock box mailing system! Meaning it's locked in a box & you need a key from the post office to get your mail! Anyways I go to unlock my box & I look over & someone has left their keys in the box! OMG! What do I do! House keys are on it car keys & other personal keys! I decided to take them! I'd know I'd flip if I lost my keys! I knew they had to live close to me, I just didn't know where!

OK 5 minutes later a 2 year old toddler was trying to reach up to the box where the keys had been! 2 years old! He was all alone! Ian( my fiance) says I think he's looking for something! I thought maybe he heard his parents looking for keys or something & was checking the mail box! He then took off running down the street! I said I should follow him! I ran back into the house & got the keys & had to run to even see him at all! I fianaly caught up with him but he was across the street. He started screaming & crying( he was still alone) then he ran into the street , I saw a red car coming fast! I ran into the street and put my hand up to the driver to stop! I got him out of the street & onto the sidewalk & held him & asked him what was wrong. He said his eye hurt! Just then a man came running down the street to us!

He said omg thank you so much for stopping that car. I wasn't close enough to help him! He's been missing for 20 minutes! The man was crying! The little boy screamed DADDY! He was lost & could not find his way home! Like a idiot I started crying to. He had nothing to do with the lost keys just a little boy lost himself! Bless his soul!

Anyways I said goodbye to them & walked home with tears in my eyes. Got a sticky note & put on the mailbox & wrote if you have lost your keys, I have them, knock on my door(insert address) and id your keys!

An hour later a woman came to the door very embarresed & id her keys & went home!

What a day! I hope that little boy never gets lost again! Poor baby! I'm glad he found his daddy & got home safe & sound! I'll never forget him! The way he clung to me! Gawd he was so scared! Bless his soul!---Moon Girl

Date: 9/24/2003 9:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 12341    I'm happy you were there for him. My own little ones tend to wander and though we try to keep them safe and close, anything can and could happen. Thankfully there are those like you who care. I'm glad to hear he is safe and a near tragedy was prevented. I'm so glad you were there for him!

Date: 9/25/2003 4:32:00 AM  From Authorid: 53900    How cool I had something similar to this happen to me when I was pregnant with my son. I was on bedrest and my daughter was almost 2 at the time she was in her room asleep or so I thought so I went out to check the mail(about fifty feet from the front door) and came back in well she had a card so I called for her to come out to open it and she did not come. I went in her room and she was not in bed anymore so I thought maybe she is hiding from me so I start looking for her. She is nowhere to be found in my house so I go outside thinking she may have wandered off somehow. Anyhow I can hear her crying and I go towards the sound of her voice she is about 20 feet down a path next to our house. We live in the country so I knew she was somewhere around the house but god I was sooooo scared. She was crying, I was crying. Luckily she was ok and I found her quickly(probably 3 minutes had passed) this was the first and only time she ever did that. None of my other kids have ever done that but I have taught them all that they are ot allowed out by themselves when they are under 6 and then they need to either stay in the yard or tell me where they are going to be. It is great you were in the right place at teh right time and that you could help that little boy then to be bale to save that woman all that trouble of not having to have all those keys remade that is good too.
