From what I read (NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT saying that I believe it), 'dreams' like that COULD be a demon called a Mare (Probably not an incubus or succubus). I had a similar 'dream', but I didn't see anything. I dreamt that I woke up, and I couldn't move, and I felt something choking me. I tried to sit up, but I couldn't. My body was STRAINING with the effort. I kept trying to call out for help, but I couldn't. It was by far one of the scariest 'dreams' I have EVER had. I finally managed to sit up, and call for help, and when I actually woke up, I was sitting up and calling for help. It disturbs me to this day. My sister also had a similar experience, except she SAW the figure that was sitting on her chest--said it looked like the devil, and he/she was wearing a long white dress with buttons. She said she also couldn't sit up, or move. The buzzing you heard may be part of lucid dreaming..often when you start to lucid dream, you hear a buzzing, and experience sleep paralysis. That's about all I have to say LOL I hope it was some sort of help :) |

Prior to the days of the UFOs being introduced into our culture, many people told tales of being visited by the ole hag... You are correct its a product of a condition called sleep paralysis. Do your query on " Dr. Persinger sleep pralysis"... His research has gone so far as to have recorded the brain waves of a person experiencing SP and then by using a helmet with electomagnets and driving the play back with a computer can induce the same kinds of phenomena in who ever may be wearing the helmet ... Its an interesting read and all over the net... :) ~Jay~ |

The old hag syndrome is just something that you have when you wake up during your dream state. I personally hate it and it scares me to death lol! |

A Incubus or Sucubus attacks those at sleep. Males who sleep alone are more prone to attacks. However, females are attacked also. After being a victim to these attacks many times, to this day i will not sleep on my back. When i do encounter a attack, the only effective method to stop a night terror demon, alien, etc,--whatever it manifests itself as.... is to call upon the name of Jesus. That in itself is interesting because why would a alien leave in fear, as i cried out to Jesus? Alien === Demon...... |

You know, I experienced these dreams many many times when I was younger and they scared me to death. I can remember laying very still with tears rolling down my eyes, terrified because I knew deep in my heart that whatever had me nailed to my bed was evil. But, not until I read your post did I remember it so well. Especially the part about the little hooded people with the glowing red eyes. My bed was surrounded by them on some nights. My mother used to hear me crying in my sleep and would tell me that I had to pray, pray and pray and that God was stronger than any evil force. They did finally go away, but not until a few nights in a row, a really hideous old woman with bloody face and bloody hands would come into my room in a wheelchair and threaten to take me away. That is when I prayed my hardest. One night, instead of the little hooded men surrounding my bed, it was surrounded by bright glowing white floating angels. Ever since then, I've always been too scared to even think about that just in case they might come back. Just pray, as hard as you can if the hooded man ever comes back. |

Oh I almost forgot to add: The movie Phantasm was made way after I was having those experiences, but to this day, I can't watch that movie because it terrifies me - they have little hooded men in that movie! |
