Oh no, you may well be perfectly innocent! What it means is that women try to do their best for everyone but find that, in some cases, people are hard to please. Very often, their own needs are overlooked. And all it takes is just one comment from someone to make them feel guilty. We fear that we're not doing our jobs properly, being a mother to our children; helping them wit their homework, spending quality time with their family, keeping their homes nice, looking after their aged parents (despite the fact that they may have siblings who should help out but won't). We take it all on board and feel guilty about neglecting one part of it. It's irrational, I know, because we're not Wonder Woman but we feel we have certain obligations no matter how unrealistic.  |
