Well, I'm sitting home cause I'm boring. I have no life, and no money to go out. All of my money is spent to pay the bills. |

I know how to have fun without money, but unfortunately all of my friends now live in another town, and it is too far to drive. I used to enjoy inviting them over, or going to their house and playing cards or board games with them. Too bad we had to move... :( |

I'm sitting in because ever since I moved to Seattle five years ago, I haven't been able to meet people. I've lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago before here and never had a problem making new friends, but I find Seattlites to be a little too exclusionary. I had a friend here for 3 years who was a transplant from New Jersey, but he moved back there in August and since he left - I just sit at home on the weekends. I'm not much of a bar girl unless there is a good band to hear, but then I don't like to go to concerts alone. I don't mix with the people at work because they're all married with children and I'm single with a 16 year old daughter who lives with her father half way across the country in N. Dakota. So we don't have much in common. So I spend my weekends reading, writing, researching, and now (I'm a newbie) here. It's not so bad really. I kind of like "social hibernation". You'll come out of your "walk on the wild side" - you're just stressed because your husband is in Iraq. I wish Bush would just pull his head out and send our boys home. Until then, all I can say is try to find a distraction away from the food. Have your cookies tonight - but tomorrow, be kind to yourself. Well wishes - Scall |
