Soldier surprises his wife at school, students cheer

This was on our family web site. I thought it was great, but I'd be mad at my husband. I don't like surprises!!

Today at work I saw the most remarkable thing.

I was in the break room at school when I heard the clapping and celebrations being sung by all the kids in the lunch room....I got up to see what was going on and one of the ladies who works at my school had a surprise visit from her husband......it brought tears to my eyes and everyone else who witnessed this reunion.

Her husband is not in 1-10 cav but he left to Iraq around the same time our guys did (march). She wasn't expecting him to come home for R&R but he surprised her. It was such a powerful moment for everyone there.

I was so proud of our kids - they really seemed happy for my co-worker.....and I know it wasn't easy on some of them because many of them have one or both of their parents who may or may not be coming home for the mid-tour break. Even so, every child and adult clapped and gave praise to this soldier. I am sure he wasn't expecting to get any satisfaction from the surprise visit other than getting to see his wife but instead he must have felt really proud knowing that so many people (young and old) care.

I am sure this soldier got the message that we care and we are proud of him and everyone still there. Don't forget.......If you happen to see some of these soldiers here on mid-tour leave please remember to tell them all how proud we are of them and let them know how much we love them!!!!!!! If any of your loved ones get to come home....tell them for me that I am proud of them too!!!!!!
