I think you're misinterpreting the evidence: people aren't turning away from the church, they're turning away from religious extremism and hypocrisy. From the Catholic sex scandals (clear evidence of coverups) to Muslims shunning mullahs who advocate terrorism and brutality against women, people worldwide are realizing that the connection from man to God need not pass through the hands of a third party; especially one who would use that position to promote their own interests. |

Churches and the followers they churn out are about the most anti-Christian people you can find ;) |

It's the natural progression of our civilization from superstition and fear to knowledge, understanding, and equality. Essentially, we're getting smart enough to realize what a load of bull plop the churches are. |

Well, I disagree. I do feel the anti-Christian epidemic but I'm not surprised by it. The Bible foretold this would happen and it will continue to. It doesn't sway my belief and never will. There are good and bad people in every religious segment or lack there of, in this world. Some people just choose to single certain groups out unnecessarily. |

You mean like how the Christians singled out the Jews, Muslims, and now homosexuals? |

people are becoming more spiritual. And less religious. One is a condition of the Heart, one is a political system. |

...heres a stunning, mind-blowing, unbelieveable, impossible, 'oh-you-can't-be-serious' type of idea: How about we all...now bear with me, I know it sounds wacko and crazy-talk...how about we all just accept/judge people for who THEY are...not because of any Christian or whatever 'name-tag'. And how about we...again, its nuts I know...how about we just see them as individuals - I know, its ludacris isn't it - and not transfer their actions (good or bad) upon others with similar 'name-tags'. Yeah yeah...I know...it won't work, its just fantasy isn't it... |

...hmmm, don't know LSG...it may be too radical a concept to take onboard for many...maybe in the future, with the way technology is increasing, who knows... |

I agree many have been turned away from entering the church because of the things many people are doing in the church. Do I think that there is a anti-christian movement? Yes, I do, but God said this would happen so I'm not surprised. But knowing God should not be a *church* thing, but a knowing in your heart and spirit, a person can come to God without going to church to do it. A person path is a spiritual path, and many will lose out if they take into account what other men/women are doing, saying, ect. Many wont turn to the wiccan religion because they have heard its witchcraft, its dark, its evil and society is mainly or has been against it. Many wont turn to the Chrisitain God because of what has happened and is happening in the churches. Bottom line, WE should NOT look at what the people are doing when trying to find our spiritual path, as their action do not have anything to do with our own spirituality. |

Neptune...what I mean, isn't what you wrote, so don't play upon my words. I was speaking in general terms of how people single certain groups out. You just validated my point by using Christians in your comment. |

It can happen You Choose, remember 20 years ago, no one could have envisioned the Berlin wall coming down, and Capitalism being introduced into the Iron Curton. How about more reciently in New York, during the East Coast blackout, New Yorkers sleeping on the streets, unmolested, unrobbed, and with shopkeepers & food providers handing out free food & drinks to families. Wasn't this supposed to be the town where people "stepped over your body if you died on a busy city street?". There is hope. |

LSG said it well *thank you*. It is what is in your heart, not what you wear on your sleeve!! AND I see people coming to Christ all the time. Yea there are some who turn away but there are many who turn toward Him..... we just dont always see it.

"I think you're misinterpreting the evidence" I am talking about people I have interviewed on the subject, and the reasons they have lost their faith. "anti-Christian epidemic" Really, where is this, are you ever going to show the existance of this? Oh and about "The Bible foretold this would happen and it will continue to. It doesn't sway my belief and never will." for FB, and You Choose, check my debate on They are all going to Die. Smith, I would love to see it happen, but I do feel it is close to impossible. We have seen the trends throughout history. Religions promote their agendas, that usually create predjudice aginst others, and those who feel they have been wronged by these faithfull masses oppose them. That is the way it has always been and until religions start saying "we accept everyone is entitled to live their lives how they choose as long s it doesn't hurt us, and will not try and invade upon their lives" it will continue. |

Phydeaux....I checked out that post you mentioned but it still changes nothing for me. I've heard that argument before but you can't compare prophesies made by MAN from MAN to prophesies made by GOD through MAN. It's just not the same and due to my faith in God and relationship with him, I know the difference. Thanks anyway. |
