I was driving in an area out of town that I'm not familiar with when I realized that I was going in the wrong direction. This is a slightly rural area, so there are not a lot of parking lots to turn into. There are drive ways, however. I was getting nervous because I was already late for my appointment. I saw a driveway, and I quickly turned into. I would have liked to have slowed down, but there was a car right behind me. Anyway, I came in too fast and because the drive way was gravel I slid and hit a lamp post that the owners had put up by the driveway. The fixture fell off the pole and broke. I was scared. No one was home, so I backed out of the drive way and left. I really feel like a criminal. Just right now, I was outside washing the paint from the pole that rubbed off onto my car. I feel really bad about what I did.
