First time in my life..I finally had the chance to go out and volunteer. It was alot of work though. Since I can't drive because of money issues and of my unfair parents, my teacher picked me up. Then me and 5 others, donated 3 hours of our time to rake leaves. One lady gave us candy and a soda. The other lady donated some money to my Science Club. My dad thought I was crazy for working for free because usually bad kids/people have to do community service. But I do it all the time at home, so why not do the same for someone who actually cares? In a few weeks, I will be volunteering at the local library for an hour a week after school. It will be nice because this is one of my choices of a future career, besides a social worker or a psychologist. I even hope to get a job there too and quit my bakery job because its really hot there and its very cheap pay for a lot of work. Working in a library in the Summer would be GREAT because I can't stand the heat and not to forget the bugs like flies and bees. So I am volunteering for a purpose though. So my portfolio looks better for graduation in 2005. Anyway, I look forward to donating my time at the library. I don't care if my parents think I am crazy! I EVEN WISH I COULD DONATE SOME TIME ON USM TOO!!
