Well thats just them being dumb for not making you guys a park. You know you can have a bunch of you get together and start something with it. Dont wait for them to take action, why dont you guys take action. Have a bunch of you get a hold of your mayor, write in to your paper saying why you should have one. Just take some action. Got Mike? |

i don't know...we don't really have a problem here, being a big city and all, but i now a lot of people see the way skateboarders are portrayed in the media and think they're bad...i don;t even skateboard (no sense of balance, lol), i just dress like a skateboarder and i get bothered all the time, it's ridiculous |

well around here it's a crime in the downtown core... same with my last town... it's nothing against you.. it's agaist all those(the magor population of) skateboarders who use the natural landscape to do tricks off of and go speeding on sidewalks and causing issues for people who are walking.. same with falling into traffic causing accidents(yes i have seen this happened) i've seen people knocked over and pushed and jumped outta the way because of skateboarders.. i'm not saying it's all of them(far from that) it's just the select few |

we have a skatepark. I dont know why your town is being so against it. It really cuts down on skaters skating on public benches and stuff... |

i think they dont want it cause of taxes and even though my towns very small about 4 miles across we pay the 3rd highest taxes in massachusets. |

Maybe you should get some friends and make your own personal skate ramps and such.. I know 3 brothers who built a quarter pipe, half pipe, and grind rail in their backyard and alot of the skateboarders go over there to skate. |

Where I use to live, for several years two young boys who were about 14 and 15 use to always bring their cd player, ramps and skateboard behind my house and spend hours skateboarding, they occasionally annoyed me a little when they didn't move quickly out of my way when I drove past. They both died in a car accident (One of the boys father was driving and he died also, the other boy was an only child). I'd give anything to see those two young men on the skateboards again, I promise I wouldn't honk the horn at them. |

most towns have one but I will have to admit this. In the years when I was young I would ride my skateboard around town even so far as skateboarding to work. I used to hate the cops busting me but now I realise why. Skateboards are unreliable. They can go out of control with a couple of little stones and they are harder to slow down on than roller blades. Now think of this. A old granny is turning into another street, neither of you see each other and you bottle her over. Sure you didn't mean it but you would have injured her. Now on the road you can't expect cars to have to slow down so they can anticapate your every move. How do they know when you are going to turn. THink about it! |

We do have skateparks here where I live. There are ordinances against biking, roller blading and skateboarding in parking ramps, on the street or anywhere where someone could get hurt. Soem of the skateboarders who were skating in the parking ramp were vandalizing parked cars. I can understand the need for rules. |

I don't think it's a crime at all. It's not like if your a skateboarder then you are bad... |

It seems as if a skateboard park would be the solution. If you could get enough to sign a petition and send it to the mayor, etc they would look into this. |

Skateboarding SHOULD be a crime. Get a bike. I can't stand the sound of those things when they do those little jumps while they're cruisin' along. You don't see me jump up in the air every so often while I'm trodding along, do you? |
