I share you're interest and desire for more information on this subject but I'm not the best resource. I can only lend my opionion. I think it's very possible we'll see the second coming of Christ in our lifetime. I feel there have been MANY signs of the end times which have taken place and continue to happen today. The interpretation of how long the end times will last is a big question for me. It could be decades or centuries or who knows how long. Good post. |

With the signs of the times, its seems close, but one just doesn't know if it will happen in our life time or not. |

God's Word says that no man knows when that day will come. It also says that day will come as a thief in the night. It is a question we cannot not know the answer to. As for my own personal opinion, I believe that it is possible that God may have mercy and patience for today's world just as He did in the days of Noah and the flood and the days of the destruction of Sodom and Gormorrah. In Noah's days, only 8 righteous people were found in the millions, though God had pleaded with them to repent and turn unto Him, and in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, God pleaded with the people to repent and turn unto Him and only Lot and his two daughters were found to be righteous in the cities. This world is becoming so very unrighteous and corrupt and it is my opinion that God could wait until there are very few righteous people found in all the millions. It is going down hill fast but I believe it will become much worse. This world is full of sin and much of the evil is said to be good in the name of freedom, human rights and acceptance. |

I know a lot of people would disagree with me and jump on me with both feet, but I do not believe the second coming of Christ will be in our lifetime. Too many things still have to happen. The most important thing that must happen is the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. The way things are now, this will be a long way in the future. Also, there is nobody apparent today who is charismatic enough and powerful enough to be the antichrist. Anyway, it is not for us to know the day and the hour. What we must all do is to live every day as if Jesus were coming. We must watch, wait and always be ready. |

I have found some of the best books covering this topic were written by Hal Linsey. I also encourage you to read "Approaching Hoofbeats", by Billy Graham. To answer your question, I am not a Christian, so I consider Revelations a story, and nothing more, Not to offend, but that is my feeling. :) |

I am inclined to go with SongBird on this one. Although it (the bible) does say we are not to know the day or hour. It does make reference to "the seasons". We, as humans (even animals know this) can tell as the change associated with the seasons is happening. Even without a calendar, we would be aware of the approaching fall and winter. likewise for spring and summer. Even birds know this and fly south before it's to late. I think we are seeing the beginning of a change in seasons. We are entering fall, winter is not far away. Probably not my life time. my prayer is for those who are lost, that they head south soon, before the coldness of the winter sets, and it's too late. |
