I was put on Zoloft during my last pregnancy because I had horrible hormonal mood swings. I didnt like it too much, didnt help alot and I didnt like the side effects. |

Never took Zoloft, but I was on Prozac not to mention over 10 other pills and I was NOT happy.. more zombie-like than anything. |

Yea my depression lasted a long time after I stopped taking it too. Ive started working out 4 days a weeka nd thats the only thing seeming to help it. My son's already a year old too. But I dont like depression medication, like Rika says it just turns you into a zombie half the time and the other half it doesnt work. |

I know A LOT of people who are on it, it's a VERY common drug. Maybe your dose is not strong enough? Talk to your doctor....maybe you need someone to talk to? I know when I had my post-pardum after my second child, I was on Zoloft - but I ALSO was in a support group (for post-pardum and the 'meetings' were free). Msg me if you have any other questions. Its no biggie, I'm sure your doctor will "up" your dosage, but ASK him/her FIRST!! illumy |

Were you diagnosed as Bi-Polar? The drastic mood swing can sometimes indicate this condition? I know it runs in my family. My sisters suffer from this. I mainly suffer from depression. As for Zoloft, I have a friend that loved being on Zoloft. Unfortunatley, it stopped working for her after so many years and now she refuses to take any meds at all. Good luck on Zoloft, I hope it works for you. :o) |

Oh, I thought you were saying that you had mood swings and that's why they prescribed it, not that you got the mood swings as a result. Speaking for my friend, she said her mood was the same pretty much the entire time she was on it. I have a link to a site that may give you some more opinions. I found this site helpful when researching Lexapro.... http://2confide.com/medication/ssri.html#to
and another one is: http://www.sjwinfo.org/cgi-bin/boardmaster.cgi
I hope those will help in some way. :)

I have the feeling that Becky was refering to me possibly, because the effect she described is exactly what I exactly what I went through. It worked for me, perhaps not for everybody. -- |
