"[T]here is enough information capacity in a single human cell to store the Encyclopædia Britannica, all 30 volumes of it, three or four times over." - Richard Dawkins, Climbing Mount Improbable, pp. 115.
An increase in this information is necessary to evolution, and despite the fact that this increase has never happened (or at least never been observed to happen), it will be interesting to see how Dawkins gives an explanation for it. That's beside the point though...When I read through science books (texts or not), I am enthralled by the magnificance and beauty of the human cell. The complexity is amazing! The human mind, with its discovery of complex mathematics, its contriving and calculating intelligence, and its logical and analytic structure, has never designed a machine that could be compared to it! I understand that in "Climbing Mount Improbable" it is Dawkins' goal to show that the cell has evolved, and I understand that this quote in no way disproves evolution, provides or presents evidence against evolution, or should be taken as such. For those of you who have already assumed that this post was meant to convey anything other than an opinion, (1), you probably haven't read this far, and/or (2), just know that this post is only an opinion (thus, not up for debate). *ENDER*
