I think that that is a ridiculous excuse. People are to quick nowadays to blame anything and everything on terrorists. Of course it was an act of terrorism to humankind. but to say that it was designed by middle eastern minds specificly for governmental retaliations is Old and Tireing. Now the facts. anywhere and everywhere out there is a Mile or so from a freeway or highway. and who would commit such an act in their own backyard. of course theyd travel. This fire was started by a pathetic person lashing out at society. what race religion or creed they are is completely irrelevent.  |

Oh yeah, definetly Muslim extremists, sounds like something they'd do (I said that mainly to annoy Urban Emperor). Seriously though, the CIA has warned terrorists have talked about this very thing. But, I think it is more likely the gardan varity nut cases, you know, enviromental-nuts or just plain fire-bugs who set the fires.  |

Did I mention Middle Easterner's? No. I said terrorists, a broadly defined term. It could be anyone from evironmental whacks (who have been planting bombs in the SF Bay Area recently) to paramilitary groups within the USA. In your rush to decry what you percieved as a racial denotation, you showed your own presupposition of all terrorists being Muslim Middle Easterners.  |

Not foreign terrorist no! Domestic ones maybe. You could call every violent crime an act of terrorism. Some wildfires are actually caused by firefighters themselves who just got bored and wanted a bit of action. A woman firefighter in NM caused a huge fire when she fell out with her boyfriend. Most firefighters are not arsonists.  |

Uh...maybe the term terrorist is being used a lil too loosely. As a resident of L.A. watching the flames get closer and closer to the city, it never once crossed my mind that a "terrorist" came and started the fire. The fires here have never been terrorist related. I don't think we had a middle-eastern person giggling to themselves, mocking Smokey the Bear, and lighting a match cursing at all Americans... -DevilsRoad-  |

I heard this program, too. (I listen to Coast-To-Coast every night). Before anyone mocks, there really were CIA & Intelligence reports indicating that El Quidda had discussed setting fires on a massive scale, especially during October (with the tie-in to Ramadan). It could be looneys jumping on the bandwagon, attention freaks, or even terrorists from overseas. Why is that so unbelieveable? We are at war. This thing is far from over, when you have enemies who want to kill you because of who & what you are. They do not want "peace-talks", they want America destroyed.  |

oh, heck yeah! Ghost-To-Ghost is probably my very fav C2C-type show. Probably because they are real stories, by real people. And, Art Bell's voice is so perfect for the show. I turn out all of the lights (well, maybe leave a hallway light on *grin*), and it is so much fun! |
