Drowning me in deep sorrow, only to bring me up for a breath.
Your eyes show resentment, and your actions show disgust.
Your mouth may say I love you, but your body is filled with lust.
Holding on to power, not willing to let go.
Keeping your heart safe, and hanging your head down low.
Looking out for tomorrow and not caring for yesterday.
Hiding the past behind you, nothing to feel and nothing to say.
Although your dreams still haunt you, of what use to be.
Too proud to let it show, and too scared to love me.
You've held me by a string as you dangle me around love.
Wanting to be close again, you bring me down as you stand above.
So, you put me in my place, you must think I am so dumb.
You are making me become so cold and so very love numb.
