The OC on Fox..Jumped the Shark tonight!--r1

The OC on Fox jumped the shark tonight. All the sudden there was all this cutesy banter amongst the characters. They were exchanging witty barbs with that ever so wily sounding background music playing. What was that all about?

It was like some Howie Long Radio Shack commecial, gone wrong. Cutesy banter is good for comedies, but this is a high impact drama.

Date: 11/19/2003 7:41:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 47162    midnight cry..did you see the whole episode....it opened with this kitchen scene with all of them just trading barbs, and some kinda dancy music in the back ground..just odd
Date: 11/19/2003 7:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 28190    I love the OC. I have seen every ep so far, and its not just witty banter. Thats what I like about the show, it has the drama, but to break up the tension between the characters they have a sense of humor thrown into it. I love the show. :) And ^ there, thats midnightly hun :) *hugs*
Date: 11/19/2003 7:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    it's midnightly and yes i saw the whole epp... on monday.... yes it starts out light hearted as lets keep the bad cook outta th ekitchen... they don't want it all serious(just like any movie or TV show) it's a drama... they toss in some lighter notes to soften up the overall of the show.. and make it mor enoticeable whenth ekey plot points come up and down... i don't think the show in general was light hearted and all quips, there was a fight, lies, sticky situations, getting caught by two girls for making out with each at the same time... yes it may not stand up to a few of the epps like ODing or running away from a hospital or huge fights between main characters but it still held it's own
Date: 11/19/2003 8:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 29387    The thing about the OC, like 90210 and Melrose Place, is its ability to balance the dramatic and comedic. There's a reason why Seth and Ryan differ immensely: it's not only to give balance between the characters, but to get bealance in the audience. The storylines paralleled each other tonight: that of Ryan going to Chino to tassle with his brother, and Seth tusseling with Summer and Anna. There both tussels, but completely different ones.
Date: 11/19/2003 10:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 8555    Ryan is hot....I love the OC!
Date: 12/23/2003 5:41:00 AM  From Authorid: 20104    It is a great show!!
