If you only buy one CD this year...well, your pretty boring. Now that jokes over, I can get with the review. This is one good, old fashioned rock album that shows how the job is done. Like a mid nineties version of Black Sabbath, but with an amount of grunge thrown best describes Superunknown. Chris Cornell (now the singer for Audioslave) uses his voice to full extent as he mutters, screams and just plain sings throughout the album. The best tracks are My Wave, Fell on Black Days, Superunknown, Head Down, Black Hole Sun, Spoonman, Limo Wreck, The Day I Tried to Live, 4th of July, and She Likes Suprises. The guitar (by Ben Shepherd) throughout these songs is explosive, with several great lead break solos. I reccomend this CD for any fan of Black Sabbath, Audioslave, Pearl Jam, Nirvana and to a lesser extent Tool and Rage Against the Machine. Sadly the band broke up around 1998, but Cornell is currently a member of Audioslave, the succesor of Rage Against the Machine.
