depends on what the home made item is.. you can only take soo much home made display craft items, but then again you can only take so much store bought of the same thing |

Homemade for sure! I have so many necklaces of macaroni and pottery of every shape you could imagine. But I remember each and every one, each year and time it was given. A gift from the heart is everlasting! |

My husband makes and crafts many wooden bowls, vases and jewelery boxes for all of our girls and our family. Many are given as gifts and I see them displayed, I've seen how much the girls appreciate the love and time taken. A gift made with love is special indeed. |

To me, just the fact that someone - anyone - considered to give me a gift, is more important than whatever material thing it is they brought me, whether homemade, or store bought -- to me the moving sentiment is what captures my heart. Scall |

Hi Moonie :) I make weird little things to give to Sangelina. She always makes a big fuss over them and says how much she likes 'em. Of course, I usually get her store bought things also..lol..Write on...:) |

My girls are making bracelets and necklaces to give to relatives for christmas. I personally am happy with whatever someone gives me, in fact, i really don't even want christmas presents, I'm happy giving. Maybe it's my age, or maybe I know no matter what I say, my mother is going to buy me as much as i use to get when I was a kid..mom goes crazy at christmas. |

It depends in my opinion. My bf has been making a lot of homemade candles for a lot of people to give to their family and friends. I would like to give a homemade gift but I wouldn't know what to give. |

homemade gifts are made with love that is passed on to that person, I appreciate store or homemade things, but I do know that gifts that were made by the giver, were made specially for me, and I think that's wonderful.....hugs Grammy |

I've done it both ways. I don't think that a gift is more meaningful because it is homemade...sometimes you get things that you really need (store bought) that maybe you can't afford to get yourself, and that does mean a lot because someone took notice that you needed it, and got it for you. I like both :D
