Lil Leppy.. it sound to me like you need to like you are struggling to forgive yourself for the things that you have done. I suggest that you work on your own forgiveness.. then you see how easy it is to allow God in.. Good luck on your search and remember.. no one is perfect everyone makes mistakes.. we have to let them go and move ahead. :)  |

God will always forgive you, but I agree with Spiral Joy, you have to forgive yourself also. God is everywhere all the time, it's up to you to decide how to praise him.  |

You know that you don't have to go to church to have God in your life right? He is everywhere at all times. He hears your prayers. One of the things you have to do, (like other said here) is you have to forgive yourself, before God can forgive you hun. When God forgives you, it takes it from you so that you no longer think about it or dwell on it or even hurt from it. However, you must forgive youself first, if you don't, what good will it do for God to forgive you? If you have already asked for forgiveness, then you have already been forgiven by Him, now you have to forgive yourself and let go of the past. Your life changed instantly when you accepted God into your heart. The slate was wipped clean, however you haven't forgiven yourself, so you don't feel like the slate has been wiped clean. If at all possible, take your bible with you. Read it, speak with God and His son Jesus. If you want to go to church.. go.. don't make exscuses that you won't go because no one will go with you. If you want God in your life then you have to be the one to decide that. Having God in your life doesn't mean that you have to go to church. I have God in my life everyday, and I don't go to church because there are way too many hypocrits that only show up at church because they have nowhere else to go. All they want to do is fit in somewhere even if they don't truly believe they are there to have faith in God.  |

Lil P. God does forgive you, ask Him and He will. he forgives you for everything, everything, for all time, His love will never end. Its OK, to take things slow, I didn't start going to church, on my own until I was in my 30's. Sure, I went with friends, as a teenager and child, but I didn't ask Jesus to be my Savior until I was in my 20's. I didn't really understand why I needed Jesus or why He died on the cross for me per say, I never thought I " sinned". Then one day, God opend my eyes, that I lied, stolen, gotten mad and hated people, you know, but HE Forgave me, and that was just so awesome. I was seriously introverted had severe social anxiety and struggled for sooooooo long before I could go to church, or be around PEOPLe who were in church their entire life, but I do sometimes stuggle, but I know God understand where I am, and where I came from and He is patience, rich in love and mercy ...when the time is right for you, you will find a place for your time to worship God. i understand what you mean hon...i have felt the same way before...you just have to allow god into your heart...this doesnt mean you have to go to church every sunday or anything....as long as you love him, he will love you back...and he will forgive you for whatever you have done! Just have faith, *big hugs*  |

LIL Leppy. YEP so many answeres here are right, you dont need to go to church to ask Jesus into your heart. You dont need to, but eventually you will want to. First of all, God will forgive you for anything you have done in the past. Tell Him you're sorry, ask Him to forgive you and then FORGET it. It's over...it's done and it's gone. It's as simple as that. As for being afraid to go to church, let me tell you something. I wanted to go to a synagogue for years and years and years, but I had nobody to go with. I was terrified to go by myself. I didn't know anybody..didn't know what they were going to do. I was afraid I'd do something to embarass myself...dozens of reasons why. But, I made myself go one Friday night. I was absolutely terrified..but I went and I stuck it out. Still scaired, I made myself go back again, and it became easier and easier until now I'm not afraid to go anymore. I LOVE it. Make yourself go to church NOW...it's worth it! Don't waste a lot of years the way I did about the synagogue being afraid. By the way, I suffer from anxiety problems so it was a lot harder for me then it would be for most people.  |
