What were popular Christmas gifts when you were a kid? ~Lucy Ricardo~

Hello everyone :) *feels like it's been ages since I made a post lol*

Well, we all know what holiday is creeping up on us. So, I thought I'd make this little post for us all. This might be a little pointless, but I'm curious, so please humour me lol. When you were a kid, what were some popular Xmas gifts? Even if you didnt get them yourself, what was on "The Top Ten List" for kids/teens?

I remember when I was little, desperately wanting a "Baby Wanna Walk" (I dont know if there is a person alive other than me who actually remembers those things lol). And then there was this one doll, that had rhinestones you could put on her clothes and hair (and your own) by using this big pink wand thing. I think it might have had "Shimmers" in the name, but I cant remember. Then, as I got older (about 10 and 11), there were of course the giga pets, Furby's (which did nothing but terrorize kids on Xmas morning lol), Pokemon, and C Watches.

My dad can't really remember, but my mom remembers getting a big teddy bear, the little plastic Beatle dolls (she had Paul until she chewed his foot off lol), Beatles necklaces and the little glasses, and some kind of puzzels.

What about you all?

Love, Lucy Ricardo

I had two when I was a kid and I also had one that my Mom had made for me..That was the first one I got. She couldnt afford the real thing so she had someone make me one..I LOVED it...*sigh* I wonder what happened to that doll...The Cabbage Patch craze was very similar to the Tickle Me Elmo craze that happened a few years ago.

Date: 12/19/2003 3:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 27583    when i was a kid the greatest gift one could recieve was a new pair of shoes and store bought clothes. and to have company and relatives show up for the hollidays. i grew up in the country on our farm in upper michigan back in the 1950s. sounds like things were hard back then but we never realy noticed as most were in the same lifestyle. we thought we had it all. wooden nickel

It was like the Cabbage Patch Wars...lol Also, Strawberry Shortcake was big and of course Barbies. Atari *thats probably spelt wrong* was HUGE! Rainbow bright was another one. Oh BTW Furbies are just evil. My daughter had one and it would move and whatnot even when it wasn't on. It went to Furby heaven right away.
Date: 12/19/2003 9:08:00 AM  From Authorid: 38683    I wanted one of those "My size barbies" when I was little, but my parents could never find one for me! LOL! Always,
Date: 12/19/2003 9:30:00 AM  From Authorid: 44960    There is a lot of things I would have liked to had at Christmas as a child. My father didnt believe in exchanging gifts and therefore, Chrismas was just another day. The majority of my childhood days were directed by abuse from my father. I can remember several Christmas's where a beating was the highlight of the day. If you have but 1 gift to give on Christmas, let that gift be love. I rarely experienced such a gift as a child. I hope everyone receives a gift of love this holiday season. (((HUGS)))
