The name of the movie is the Passion of Christ. Gibson a very devout catholic put 25 million dollars of his own money into the making of the movie. Some Jewish people in Hollywood...(Howard Weinstein??) have sneaked into private viewings of the movie and said it was anti-semitic..if it comes off that way than it is wrong...lots of others including Jewish people who have viewed it say it isn't..I guess I should reserve judgement until I see it for myself. Gibson said it is based directly on the scripture so I don't see how it could be anti-semitic...the virgin Mary is played by a Jewish woman along with other actors.  |

Hello *Kelly*, From what I remember, salvation was offered to the Jew first,and then to the Gentiles (non-Jewish). It was years after the Cross, that heatherners (uncircumsized nations)were allowed to gain salvation.Thereby demonstrating Gods love for his chosen people (the Jews)even after the crusifiction. This means that if a Jew is persecuted by a Christian, this person does not have the Love of God in their heart,making them non-Christians. I wonder how many of todays Christians even know that Jesus was a Jew. I haven't seen the movie yet(I look forward to it). I understand that the language is Aramaic,the Semitic language of Christ. Just found this from an interview from the today show I think: Gibson: "The film collectively blames humanity for the death of Jesus. Now there are no exemptions there, all right? I'm the first on the line for culpability — I did it. Christ died for all men, for all times." Arroyo (Reporter): "Including the Jewish people?" Gibson: "Yeah. They’re part of the human race."

Something that gets me - Christians who are against Jews should think...Jesus was a Jew. Anyway, this movie does look good, but I am worried there might be acts of anti-Semitism. People just need to learn that nobody's better than anybody else because of religious beliefs or color or any other factor. Just get along.  |

Agrees with Woodshed the Jews are God's chosen people in the Bible The Jewish people were the ones promised the Messiah They rejeced Jesus as the Son Of God they thoght Christ was only a prophet and the true messiah was yet to come. The Jews were the frist people promised the Messiah. But most importan be they Jew of Gentile anyone who accepts Christ as their Savior and that He is indeed the Son of God will be saved  |

I heard "The Passion of Christ" is being shown without sub-titles......Did I hear wrong?.....Mel said it wouldnt make a difference because everyone knows the story.....Which I thought was odd......Shindlers list.....What a great film......He was a German who saved Jews destined to die......The Shindler Jews are now 5 million strong....I think thats incredible.......  |
