I jump with a gentle shove Surprised I land, he holds my hand, this loves is everlasting Inside a poetic heart lies pain For a prophet is never accepted from the city from which she’s came Life’s odyssey’s and obstacles keeps her wings pinned to the floor My perfect dream of life is where there is pain no more Poetic heart, inside there lies, a burden of sorrow Through the lyrics and stanzas are outlets to lessen the loads Etched deep within are battle scars from life’s many hi’ and lows The Poems are my maps to determine where I go and when I should build my own roads Inside a poetic heart lies a gift With the power to reflect, to guide, entertain, ponder, wish or uplift Because they say they see, therefore they are blind The poetic heart is a powerful gift, & that’s the bottom line.
