The religious leaders in Jesus' day added to the burden of the people. They argued the fine points of the law. When Jesus died he fullfilled the law. We are under a new commandment, to love our God with our whole heart and mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves. |

I think it sounds like he is saying . . The wise know all and therefore are used to that so they maybe stop opening their minds to new possibilities. But children beleive in magick and are able to see it in almost anything, and they are willing to open their hearts to many things with love and innocence.  |

The thing is that we were all babes in Christ when we first came to Him and He tells us that by the comforter, the Holy Spirit of God that He will take of His and shew it unto us. We don't have to stay in a stalemate of learning as God is willing to show us all things, He tells us to study to shew ourself approved, rightly dividing the truth from error. The thing is God expects us to be as children or babes reguardless of how much we learn spiritually, to come to Him as little children and the reason he wants us to come to Him as little children is because little children are so trusting, and not doubting. If we trust in God in this manner, he will as babes give us those hidden things to share with mankind, as if he only revealed these things to babes that stayed babes, that what is the need for the prophet or ministers, teachers? When ever we THINK we know more than God, then we have gone to far, we are no longer babes that are learning. I know that I learn more everyday, as there is always something New in Gods word for us to gleam.  |

Debbie, this is just an observation so please don't take offense. Jehovah wants us to make advancements as you stated but doesn't that also apply to the language that the bible is written in? You are using a version of the bible that uses words that were used hundreds of years ago and almost make no sence anymore. (shew) That sounds a little like baby talk if you think about it. Since there are no original manuscripts left, or none that any of us have access to, why wouldn't you use a version of the holy scriptures that make sence by using todays language, there are plenty of them out there I am sure. |

I'm sorry pammyjo, but there are manuscripts out there. tell me what do you do with the dead sea scrolls? they were written 1,000 or so years ago, or more YET so many things that are written in the king james version of the bible are written WORD FOR WORD, line up line, percept upon percept just as those scrolls that were found in the cave just in 1945, YET the bible, KJV was translated way before 1945. So yes, the bible has been taken care of so much that even the scrolls written before king james bible, are in agreement with it, as if written by the same hand. and whom can that hand be, could it be , OHHHHHHHHh GOD??? |

Though I do not care for the version you posted this from at all, Jesus is saying that the world, because of their worldly wisdom and philosophies,etc refuse to hear Him. He is saying that those with a willing mind, those who are teachable, will seek Him and hear Him.  |

Debbie and Barb, this is just for your information only but the other day we had a KJV of the scriptures and atthe front of the bible in the first few pages was the notation that the personal name of God was taken out of that version because they knew if they left it in, it would not sell. If you would like me to I will get the complete information on that particular versionor date that it was published. But out of curiosity does your say this? |

Barb, when you say that Jesus was talking about the world and it's philosophies I have to agree with you, but as with everything else in life, there are stages that we develop. So while what you said is right as to the general world it goes even deeper than that. And a person keeps making advancements until he reaches his goals, in this case spiritual goals. The truth is what we should all be seeking, because our lives depend on it pure and simple. A few years back there was a movie called THEM, (I hope my memory serves me right). It was about common people that while unknowingly were being controlled by alien beings. A certain man found a pair of special glasses and when he put them on he was amazed at what was really there, Where billboards said one thing to the naked eye it said something entirely different in reality, Cops, restaurant workers, politicians, etc... that looked like normal people were in fact aliens. The movie was stupid but the point that it made left an impact on me. People don't know that they are blinded until they put those special glasses on. The scriptures say that Satan keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. And there is a veil over the eyes of the unbelievers. They cannot see no matter how they struggle until their heart conditions change and they humble themselves like the babes that Jesus spoke about. From what I have learned of the scriptures there are no gray areas, no mysteries, no vague and unsolved questions, it all makes sence. Thats why Jesus said that these things were hidden from the wise and intellectual ones. They sound like they know what they are talking about, it sounds good, like the churches in Christendom look on the outside beautiful and grand! but the inside is like dead mens bones. I would imagine this is why Jesus was disqusted with the religious leaders of his day. They would stand on the street corners and make themselves out to be something they were not. He told them blatantly that they were from their Ftaher the devil. They made traditions that were a burden to the common people, thats why the scriptures say to quit being fashioned after this system of things, to make your minds over to do the will of God. It takes so much work to find the hidden treasures in the scriptures but my God, they are so well worth the effort. |

Oh and by the way, in this one you did give chapter and verse, but in many of your posts, you just have some numbers and not all of the numbers are in order, so could you please do as you have done in this post, give chapter and verse and when it changes to another chapter or verse instead of added them all together as if its ONE long chapter and verse, give us the chapters and verse as it will help in the long run. |

PamyJo, We are to put aside all evil, and be inwardly converted and free self of a desire to serve self. We are to love God with our entire being, to adore and praise Him in all things. Our souls should cry out, My God, How Great thou are!! We are to seek His truth, and cry out to Him for wisdom and understanding of His Word. We are to seek Him as if our life depends upon Him, because it does. God gives His way to anyone who seeks His way. He will lead those who seek Him and only Him. We are to understand that His way is life and truth and without it, there is no hope, no true happiness and peace. Without God, there is nothing worthwhile. |
