Waiting for the sun’s ray, To come down my way. Bright my life just a bit, So that for the heavens I’d be fit.
Hoping for a quick glimpse, A peek is what I ask for. Get me closer to this paradise, And Lord I ask for nothing more.
All these injustice years, All sins in which I had to live with. Hoping that there really is a reward, And that heaven is not just a myth.
So I lay down in hopes, Praying with my eyes closed. All is silent in the air, As from this life I slowly dozed.
And there before me it stood, The gate glistering gold. My eyes at first blurry, Focusing to what before me was in hold.
I take the first few steps, But stall as my stomach begins to turn. The past regrets and sins start to flash, My Lord please don’t let this be the gate leading me to burn.
The place so white, But not as I dreamt it to be. Not a soul did I see in site, But just one by the gate, awaiting for me.
His eyes so blue in color, I could not stand but to shed a tear. All my life I was a sinner, And now rejection is what I deeply fear.
All I could do was just stare, As he sensed my fear increase. His hand stretched out towards me, As tears from my eyes continued to release.
Just like the stories, The book of life laid before him. So large in size I began to worry, Reminiscing on how my life was so ever dim.
Oh Lord, Before the gates I reach. Judge my heart’s softness, How my tongue to all would preach.
If I did any wrong, If the past I brought upon any hurt. Please forgive my acts, Allow my sins to be covered underneath hell’s dirt.
But I must ask one favor, To beg for you to reconsider. The world below is so lost, Let me be the soul who would be the people’s winner.
Heavenly Father, I call your name before the gate. If this is heaven or hell, I ask don’t yet end my fate.
And the silence breaks, As I hear a thunderous pound. There before me this sinless soul stood, A tear from his blue eyes rumbling to the ground.
My son, the Lord to me speaks, Of how your life has lead to this. A believer you have always been, For your presence the Earth would hurtfully miss.
But your eyes must be more open, Your ears un-allowing temptations to set their mark. I ask your heart to continue to beat, My son go now and light up this world which remains dark.
Your bravery will be rewarded, As your book has yet begun. Make your Father proud of his creations, Prevent the devil’s victory on a battle in which he yet won.
And in instant reaction, My eyes opened so quickly. The room much familiar, Though the visions remain strong in quality.
Was this but a dream, Or had my prays been granted? Was I spoken to, A savior had the heavens demanded?
And out my window, The sun begins to rise. A look in the mirror and now I see, All along for I had held those blue glistening eyes.
