Spaceballs

I was bored so I thought I'd review the last movie I watched which is Spaceballs.

You could probably guess from the title that this is a comedy. It's one of many Mel Brooks's films which always prove to be hilarious. It's a spoof of pretty much any space flick really but mainly the big ones like Star Wars, Star Trek and Alien. It also spoofs a whole list of others. Indiana Jones, the Wizard of Oz, and Planet of the Apes to name a few.

The plot is simple, a princess is kidnapped by the feared bad guys of the galaxy, the Spaceballs, and two space pirate type guys are hired to rescue her. The capatain of the Spaceball's ship, Spaceball 1, is played by Rick Morranis. His name is Dark helmet and he wears a ginormous helmet. The president of the spaceballs, President Screwb, is played by Mel Brooks himself and is quite funny.

The "soace pirates" are Lone Star, played by Bill Pulman , and Barf, played by John Candy. Barf is a mog, he's half man, half dog. He's his own best friend.

So the princess is rescued and Lone Star and Barf go thorugh all sorts of mishaps, shinanigans and runins with the Spaceballs. The whole movie is very, very funny and it has a happy ending. I recomend to anyone who needs a good laugh.

Date: 2/1/2004 3:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 28989    It's weird, I saw it in the theater when it first came out and I hated it. Then I saw it at someone's house, and I almost died laughing. My favorite part is when the princess grabs someone's gun and starts shooting during a gun battle, yelling, "You shot my hair!"
